Actually have 4 firsts in play next year. The smart call would be particularly if hawks slide a few spots Hawks 1st + WCE future first straight up. It's very fair all round if Warner still wants to come home.

Could literally add Freddie, Chad, Corey, WCE 2nd and then academy prospects and be done. Not much more that can or needs to be turned over. The club is going to need to be developing some of our young talls as backs and we still need a competent ruck for the future when the time comes.

Reality is even if we end up absolutely nailing the 2021-2025 draft/trade/fa periods the earliest likely time to contend imo is 2028. So i'd want to have a ready to go ruck by the end of the 2027 trade period if Flynn doesn't work out.

Like I mentioned earlier do you think fair trade for Warner is pick 9-12 Hawks 1st and WC F1st, likely pick 5-7?
Are WC paying overs based on recent high end trades?
That high of trade for OOC player would be maximum, would be asking for something back if it gets to that price picks wise?
Chad, Corey, Freddie, WC 2nd/hopefully Curtin slides, and academy talent, 100% like this, would love to get Curtin as the next KDEF prospect to be ready in 3-4 years.
Again agree 100% with club needing to develop KP players as backs, A Reid, Barnett if he doesn't improve in ruck role, Maric looks like he is being tried in KDEF role in Gov type?
Again agree with 2028 and the need for a decent ruck is probably 2026-27 FA, trade problem, even if Flynn does work out he will be 29 and is more of a decent fill than a decent top 20 ruck imo?

Sorry on Rodriguez he is not outside at all he is a centreman
He is a inside mid that has elite footskills on either side
He is tough hard at it gets a lot of second possession in the centre
Is elite distributor by hand and foot so brings other into the game
He has a very balanced inside outside game
Sounds like Benny Cuz. Must draft!

Oh, we're definitely gonna be paying overs trying to secure Warner, pretty sure that was the entire reason for wanting next years picks instead of this years from the Hawks.

Why do we have to pay overs for warner ?

If we convince him to come to west coast we trade hard .

We shouldn't be paying more than other similar trades .

Contracted Bolton 10 + 11 + 18 for Bolton + 14 + f3 (37)

Tim toranto 12 + 19

Rankin pick 5

Cameron 3 x later 1sts for Cameron + 2x 2nd rounders approximately pick 4-5 on the draft points calculation

Why do we have to pay overs for warner ?

Because the recruitment team be like:

the question is what overs does WC pay.
Hawks 1st(pick 9-12), WC F1st(pick 5-7) is basically pick 1 with a discount for WC F1st.
High end deal, anymore and SYD need to be giving something back, if WC have to trade into back half of 1st round to satisfy a deal if want picks in 2025 they need to be putting a F2nd on the table.

If Flynn can get himself over his injuries and into peak form he is a serviceable ruck for a contending side. 29-31 is a workable age for a ruck and I think he has the ability to be the lead ruck in a contending side.

It's a big if however.

If the hawks pick is pick 9 + WCE F1 I think that's fair to all parties.

What's your view on Bazzo? Was pretty highly rated as a junior and was part of that strong 2021 WA draft class. I really hope he can fill one of the KPD roles long term.

Spot on.

Been saying all along our list in 2026 is going to have refreshed the young talent with top picks and we start climbing. Add a couple of trades and free agents and the list is 90% there.

Agreed we need to develop or trade in a capable #1 ruck however we dont need to use top 10 picks to land them. Money and opportunity can land us a decent mature ruck in the next 2 to 3 years.

When the team looks close to contending thats when established gun mplayers become interested in us as an option.
