No idea why people are putting Livingston on the delist pile after his 1st year.

When have 200cm frwd rucks delivered as 19 year olds? They take years to develop.

Same with Bazzo. We are not moving on one of the few developing KP defender prospects. Not after a year wrecked by tragedy and the next working through OP as he was building his body.
Normally you’re absolutely right, but with two 1Rs and 3 NGA/FS minimum we need to clear list space. There are a couple of NGAs that are a good Cat B chance that also doesn’t help him along with a plethora of tall forwards and two young FWD/RUCKs well ahead of him.

Reasons are simple. We need list spots.

He wasn’t a high pick, hasn’t shown massive flashes at wafl level (that someone that doesn’t observe the wafl would notice), might be undersized for ruck, and can he play another role?

Don’t think anyone is saying cut him if he shows signs of life this year, but after two years in the system the team should be able to tell if he has the base attributes to keep developing. If he doesn’t, he’s gone.

Because the majority of this board can only comprehend the two extremes of superstar and delist. No one is able to exist in the middle so if they aren't absolutely killing it then they are on the delist pile.

I've even seen posters suggest that Dewar could be on the delist pile next year.

Nah, he's in the 'superstar' category.

Coen needs to continue to show development in his leading patterns, marking and kicking. If he does that he's safe imo. Like Jack Williams though he isn't the most athletic so he needs to improve his forward craft.

Bazzo needs to continue to show improvement and again if he does that he's safe. The reality is though it will be year 4 and he should be even with his circumstances starting to dominate the WAFL. If he can bounce a few decent games at AFL level in there perfect. Comes from what was a truly great family and is a great young man. Want nothing more than for him to make it.

Some tough decisions will likely have to be made towards the end of next year.

Finally. Delist time has been way too easy recently because there's been so much dead wood to cut. Still reckon 2025 will be easy though. 2026 might be more difficult.

Theres still 5 easy delist/retire decisions to be made at the end of the year.

Livingstone, Bazzo, Dewar. Who are the other 2?

Is holidaying here and did a training session on the oval with the other WA boys that play for Bulldogs. It's a public oval, so anyone can access it.

No one asked you champ.

I believe the correct board expression is:

“Who ****ing asked you?”

Other players will go before Livingstone and Bazzo.

Two positions of need.

Other players will request trades. Players on the fringe or being pressured by our future focus will move to extend their career earnings. Sheed retires. Petroccelle moves. Maybe rhe surprise move next year is Tom Cole. Or a Baikey Williams. One of the young talls. I wouldnt be surprised if Kelly chased a bigger longer contract.

We trade in Warner using one 2025 1st and a future 1st.

Leaves us with 4 to 5 live picks in 2025.plus Warner.

Delist, retire or traded / FA.

Sheed
Petroccelle
Cripps
Jamieson
Hunt is another who will need to make way for the future at some point

A player is poached and sks to be traded. Oone of Cole, Kelly, B Williams or one of the young talls.

Rawlingson would need to keep improving.
Brockman IMO is on notice.
Chesset to an extent also.

Gov will be 34 in 2025 as well.

That is 8 to 9 players who I would consider cutting before two developing talls in positions of need who are developing at an acceptable rate and showing progress.. (Which they need to continue proving in 2025)

All these young players need to do is improve.

Can't really afford to be going backwards at AFL level as a fringey 'add on/cat B' player or you'll be shifted.

Provided Livingstone builds on his first year, i'm sure he'll be fine. Likewise Bazzo, who really hasn't got a high bar going into 2025 so that should hopefully be pretty straightforward. Hutchinson is another one. If he remains at the same level after 2025 he's probably going to be shown the door. If he keeps developing and builds into his AFL career, even providing good games in the WAFL as depth, that should be enough.

Chesser needs to do something. That's also pretty obvious. Brander only got 4 seasons and there's a few similarities there regarding where they were taken in the draft, no set role, haven't established themselves, not consistent etc. Brander was also a tall as well so you'd think that would've bought him even more leeway.

Sheed, Petrucelle, Jamieson on the other hand have had plenty of years in the system and would need something pretty special to justify continuing their AFL careers. We've still got plenty of axe candidates.

Agree with this but after the players you have listed (Sheed, Petch, Cripps, Jamo, maybe Hunt plus Rawlinson), Livingstone is next IMO. Will depend on how many picks we plan on using but I think we’ll see another year of big list turnover.

If Flynn proves he can stay on the park I’d love to trade B Williams and for me Brockman is very much a Zac Langdon candidate.
