Just on a couple of Victorian prospects and why they could be available at our pick.

Ben Hobbs. Is only 181cm (small by today's mid standards and projections for next decade) and is already a very physically imposing presence and weight. Is quite developed. I can see him going 5-6 or potentially sliding.

Josh Sinn. Was last year seen as a potential number 1 pick but hasn't backed anywhere close to that this year. Is a very good kick but a defender with the potential for midfield time. His kicking is also a lot more erratic when he's at pace, needs to compose before kicking. Also very light and has shown to be injury prone so far. My sister is involved with the family and has told me we have been in touch with him and his family 4 times. Only player I have any inside info on this year. Also a very west coast pick, the injuries, slider, need for run and pace etc.

In saying that the club could have been in touch with multiple other players significantly more than Sinn I do find it unusual for such close contact to a Victorian junior particularly with covid and being a vic metro player.

We may
Sinn has Brander 2.0 written all over him. Touted as a potential Pick 1 before his draft year, but slides to our pick, and we get so excited that we draft him instead of the pure midfielder we need.

Yes. We certainly may.

I'm not saying he's not and he's nowhere near my choice for our first pick.

If Hobbs is still there with Johnson as well I'm really not sure who I'd draft. When you see who has what picks if Freo and Richmond take a tall before our pick I can see Hobbs potentially being there.

Also while I greatly rate the WA talls this year in relation to the other states I still don't see how someone like Bazzo goes top 20. I love him as a pick but see him as at earliest the seventh tall off the board.

I'm just saying I genuinely expect us to go for him if both Erasmus and Johnson are gone. Which would not be great.

Johnson is still who I really want at our first and could really not have shown much more but to a lot of the so called experts seems to be in that 15-20 range.

Maybe it's just the old fashioned high clearance mid I always seem drawn to that has me hoping Hobbs is still there.

I think johnson is a reach at our first but i dont mind if we do.

It's really not that hard Rohan.

I'll write you a cheat sheet, here..

Rohan's Cheat Sheet for our first pick

Step 1 - Select Johnson
Step 2 - If Johnson's gone, select Erasmus.
Step 3 - If both are gone, select Hobbs
Step 4 - If Hobbs is also gone, select Goater
Step 5 - Goater won't be gone, so uppercut yourself and read step 1-4 again.

What about Tyler Sonsie?
"Tyler Sonsie is a balanced midfielder able to win clearances in close, but also hurt the opposition on the outside with his clean and crisp skills. Proving he could match it against senior players with a 24 disposal and two goal game in his only VFL outing for Box Hill, he may be one of a few Victorian prospects to debut at AFL level next year. Likened by recruiters to Richmond champion Trent Cotchin, such a comparison is evident in his stoppage work; able to win first possession with quick anticipation and clean hands to set up midfield thrusts, but also every chance to go forward and kick goals on his right and left boot.....

At stoppages, Sonsie is dynamic in reading taps with good timing and quick thinking, hitting the ball at pace and doing so cleanly. There aren’t many players as clean as Sonsie at stoppages as he never fumbles and with good agility, can escape congestion and find targets by hand or foot to set up plenty of drive from the contest. With clean hands and that mix of composure and agility, Sonsie often gets maximum value out of his clearances which he has done in plenty of games this year – most significantly during his 34 disposal outing against Calder Cannons in Round 2.

Sonsie is arguably the most dual-sided player in the draft, capable of kicking competently on either foot. Combined with his agility and composure, he often creates more options for himself when he can fake to either side. Sonsie’s two ripping goals against Calder Cannons both came off his opposite foot and if there is a player in recent memory that could execute the same goals – 2001 Brownlow Medalist Jason Akermanis. Sonsie could even get close to that level he, is going to be a special player."

Seen Briggs mentioned a few times as a back up ruck…

if my memory serves me correct we actually bud on him and GWS matched it… the very next pick we welcomed Bailey Williams to the club….. ohhhh the irony of bringing him to west coast

not many people here big on draper? think he has all the right tools to be a top tier mid

I am very big on Draper

Smooth and silky mover, very dangerous up forward as well, he’s a perfect player for the modern game. This is why I wish we found a way to get in another first, so many good players in the 5-20 range.

Yep. On 2021 positions:

4 (2021)
4 (2022)
18 (2022)

For
1 (2021)
19 (2022)

If Adelaide hold or get worse, Nth improve at all, and Melbourne fails to go B2B then that is a massive price.
Wow!
How would you rate him?
Have to be a potential generational talent for that price. Surely?
For Adelaide to offer that they must seriously rate him as you say, a 'generational talent'.

But North must feel the same way to knock back that offer. A slide from 1 to 4 in 2021 + a likely top 5 and late teen 2022 pick.
What it tells me is that North are going for Horne-Francis with pick 1. Otherwise, if they had someone else in mind, they'd take the deal and laugh all the way to the bank.

Of course North SHOULD bid first for Daicos to force a Pies points binge. But they'll probably blouse out and let him slide.

Interesting read this, Lobb’s manager confirms he’s so desperate to get out of Cockburn he wants to take a pay cut:
"I was certainly surprised the last few days about the honesty of Peter, it sounded like he was at church giving confession, if I'm honest. It was incredible."

Colin Young sounds like a twat. Your contracted player wants out and you're expecting some 'cone of silence'?

I think one thing we can all agree on as Fremantle and West Coast fans, Geelong are campaigners to deal with.

Agreed and now you guys may finally believe us, when we say that the " Kents " kept moving he goal posts with the Kelly trade in year one of the attempt to broker a trade.

But the karma train has a habit of coming back to haunt the villains and it the fullness of time, it will bite them on the arse.

Eventually a Geelong Falcons kid will be drafted by one of our Clubs and asks to be traded to Geelong.

Then revenge is a dish best served cold.

It feels like the Catholic choir boy is complaining to the Anglican choir boys that the Uniting choir master has f?!?ed them over and is looking for sympathy.

We are with you. Unfortunately out sphincter muscles still hurt so we are quiet.
