Any love for Brayden George with our first pick? Powerful forward that can go into the midfield. Think he will get more midfield time and climb draft boards by the end of the year

Lets just see if Sheezel stays in the midfield and starts putting on these displays regularly. The only player I think who can shake up the order outside of the top 2 unless the KPP have unbelievably massive second halves to the year. If he does and continues to show that level of improvement I really don't mind finishing 17th.

Don’t know much on this kid but Twomey gave him the plays like Petracca tag ..

I don't really rate Knightmares' work as highly as some do, but in his 'power rankings' he has Phillipou and Sheezel at 1 & 2.
This far out from the draft he'll try to seem like he's edgy and different, come closer to the draft he'll have mostly fallen in line with other draft watchers are doing.
Having said that sheezel could be first if he plays midfield for the rest of the year

RanaNaved for what it’s worth I actually think that Sheezel is the most talented player in this years cohort.
The fact that he is ( and rightly so, at this stage of the year ) , perceived predominantly as a HFF has him pegged on most mocks, lower than where I believe his talent level sits.

He has an opportunity in the next couple of months to show his wares as a midfielder. The fact that he will be availability for the full Nab season, will allow him to shine whilst the Private School kids are out playing for their schools.

Should he excel as a midfielder in the next few months, I would not be at all surprised if he catapulted himself into #1 pick, draft contention.

That said he is IMO a massive flight risk, if he goes anywhere outside Victoria.

What’s the story with Philippou? 191cm midfielder/forward sounds like something we’d need?
192cm mid/utility. A thumping left foot, very good overhead.

Averaging 28 touches, 7 marks, 5 tackles, 4 clearances and 1.5 goals a game.

Late December birthday, so one of the youngest for this year's draft.

Just seems a natural footballer wherever you put him. Early on in the season just kind of went around and did his own thing - I like how he takes grabs around the ground and kicks the odd goal. Has played a bit more inside in the last 2 weeks and stuffed the stat sheet.
Top 2 is a bit rich at the moment though I have him in my top 10 based on say 70% performance 30% upside

I’ve got him in my top five so that’s a great result.

Can't believe Broadbent is what?

Don't leave us hanging ffs.
Haha sorry, was in a taxi from the airport and the Bigfooty web page kept bugging out - I'd start writing something and then it would crash. So that's why it only has half that message.

It wasn't going to be that groundbreaking, but;

Can't believe Broadbent is already 202-3cms and 100kgs, and he's a December baby. He's a bit like Jack Williams in that he would be almost a year younger than some of his draftee rivals (January birthdates). So likely still has growth left in him, could he get to 205-6cm?
That's the bit I like about him, is he still probably has growth and development in him. If he were a January kid, you could accurately say he's just man child and that's why he is dominant.

I think also his ruck craft, skills and movement for a big boy make him almost a sure thing in AFL. I'm a glass 2/3rds full on him.

Not for mine, and not because I don't rate him but more so our pick will be too early and I think there will be much better candidates at pick 1/2.

This is exactly where I am on Sheezel! I think he'd be highly appealing to WCE, as they like dual role players and if he can continue to prove he can play both midfield and forward he'll be right up our alley.

One big question remains though, does he want to leave Melbourne?

Watching the replay of Sandy vs Knights and he's relegated Ashcroft to second fiddle.

One game I know, but he's been impressive. 19 contested possessions.

That too, is my ONLY concern with him.

I also agree that he is the prototype duel role capability player that RO’B usually gets a hard on for.🍆

I see him as a bit of a clone of a hybrid Dean Kemp/Brett Heady.

Yeah, I barely noticed Ashcroft in that game. Although I was watching for Sheezel, but he seemed to be doing it all on the outside and inside. Was super impressed by him.

If that question is, do you want to leave Melbourne or go to the Kangas then perhaps we are looking good.

His ruck craft, skills, around ground movement and footy IQ are very high. He is however a manchild. From what i've seen he was 200cm at 15/16 in Collie. I think he's one that's already done all his growing. He might get to 202 or 203 but it's a big maybe. Unless he has another late growth spurt he will be on the short side for a ruck. He is already at this stage about the level of development of Jamieson now imo.

I've been a huge supporter of his for a long time but relative to his draft class he isn't showing a lot of signs of a much higher ceiling and isn't an athletic beast (he does however already have great endurance). We do still genuinely need a ruck in the draft and would happily take him with our second pick. I can however see him sliding in draft calculations later on in the year due to perceived lack of growth and overexposure. The champs will be very big for him and also if he can get a couple of senior games and show more there than what he did last year.

Even his colts stats are nigh on identical to last year.

So not a private school kid

Rules out WCE then

He actually is a Private School Boy.

But not from a school that plays APS.

He attends Mount Scopus Memorial College.
It’s probably Melbournes premium Jewish School.

Also his local football club is AJAX.

AJAX is a acronym for:
Associated Judaea Athletics Club.

It was founded in 1957 by The Melbourne Jewish Community.

It remains today the first and only Australian Rules fully Jewish Club.
