I can really only think of two trade scenarios and both if we finish last. The only other way it happens is if someone quite low picks up a second first rounder.

1. We trade our pick 37 and next years second round pick to brisbane for their first rounder with a handshake deal not to bid on ashcroft saving them a further 350 odd points. I feel the club will back itself like we did against gold coast and brisbane would be confident we don't go back up the ladder at all.
I can tell you right now our response to that.

Bwahahaha gagf. 🫤

Does some kent have a contact that the club this isn't just the membership one?

If so, i say we share that bad boy around all of us on here spam them with reasons why they should be taking Culley in a couple weeks. 50 different emails from big footy 'experts' might be enough for Ro or Nesbitt's son to at least consider him.

Mid Season Draft
  • Culley - Pick 1
  • Florenca - Later pick

National Draft
  • Wardlaw/Scully/Tsatas - Pick 2
  • Best Avail - Pick 20
  • Needs - Pick 28
  • Needs - Pick 38

Would be taking my membership card back out of the microwave if something like this happened.

Last year Adelaide reportedly offered their first round pick (6, Rachele) and a future first for #1 because they wanted Horne-Francis.

I have no idea if there is a consensus pick 1 this year but I wouldn't be putting pick 1 on the table unless multiple firsts were coming back the other way. Right now the only team with 2 first round picks this year is Sydney with 14 and 18. Pass. If Hawthorn offered 6 and 7 (Sicily FA compo, unlikely they would have that) then you'd look at it. 2020 Sydney used 4, 5 (academy) and Essendon 8, 9, 10. 2019 Freo had 7, 8, 9 (NGA). Those are the sort of draft hands we'd love to get our hands on. We don't have any free agents and the AFL aren't giving us shit, so pick 1 (or 2, 3, 4...) is our starting point.

Giants and Sùns could end up with two 1sts with players potentially moving.

If we were indeed inclined to trade it (pick 1/2), it doesn't really matter who has two firsts, every team has a current year and a future first

So if we get a MSD pick I assume the logic is as follows…

  • Flanker: check
  • private school boy: check
  • injury history: check
  • midfield potential: check
  • dominated under-16s: check

Come on down random player X!

Im all aboard the Culley train after one highlights video which obviously makes me an expect.

We won’t pick him though :/

Jake Florenca, who played as a top-up for the Eagles, has been given an AFL exemption to nominate for the mid-season draft along with Wade Derksen and six other players after the League reviewed applications.

I don't mind if we take him, but only if there's a spot free and we don't leave someone younger and seemingly more talented on the table
