I dunno, I rate Duggan usually because he's hard at it and we're severely lacking those hard nosed types in the team.
But his kicking and decision making has been letting him down a lot lately.
I say this everytime, but it’s ironic that we wanted Nakia the BBIB in that draft, and were disappointed we ended up a small but skilful HBF distributor.

Turns out the small skilful HBF was just Beau Waters from Wish.

We don’t really need another attacking half back flanker with Jones and a fit Yeo in the side.

I’d be more inclined to just play Rotham in a more free flowing role while Yeo is out, but they seem hesitant to do so.

Yeo isnt fit and Jones has played less than half a dozen games in defense.

And our attacking half back depth is fine?

I still think Culley is going to be a gun in time.

He’s 19, and only just started playing against men.

Has the determination, rapid development and physical traits to succeed.

Still very happy even if he doesn’t get any game time in the seniors this year. That said, I’d love to see him get one or two before the season is out.

Make the kid earn his debut.

Even Chris Judd played one WAFL game. ;)

Oh yeah for sure, there's no other player with our pick we should've gone for - I just know how this board works and am waiting for the whinge to take place.

It's funny how Rotham gets dropped by Simpson in a heartbeat, yet we give him a 3 year deal. I'd keep him in as he's our only medium sized defender who can play on a big if we're forced too.

Bazzo getting some early exposure instead.

Trew playing ahead of Clark.

We we are looking at kids and getting games into some ahead of time.

Bazzo is ok on small and I’d rather get games into him

Ryan is an AA forward, I don’t think we need to shift him back tbh.

Watch the replay of WA v Vic metro
Ashcroft not very impressive, drops his knees when getting tackled looking for high contact, noted he got 9 free in the Allies game. That will not last long in AFL.
Broadbent has great hands, Hewitt lots of cheap ones.

Question, Brisbane will need picks to match pick 1 or 2. We could swap pick 20 & 25 for Brisbane 16 and 34.

Hear me out guys, what if we played Darling in the midfield??

Not too sure about hearing you out ...... but with too many more comments like that we might just show you out . :thumbsu:

Current list is 45 (46 if you count Shepp) which is 3 above the maximum of 42

With our picks 2,20,38 and ports 2nd (currently 25) we need to make space for an absolute minimum of 4 picks

So at least 7 players need to be moved on. Assuming no trades of contracted players, those 7 will have to come from the 18 players currently uncontracted beyond this year

Definitely safe - Rioli, Naitanui

Definitely gone (retired) - JK, Hurn

Choose your poison on at least 5 to cut from these 14 :

Ruck - Strnadica
Ruck/forward - Jamieson, Williams, Dixon
Defenders - Jones, Nelson, Witherden
Mids - Shuey, Redden, West, Trew. Naish, Joyce
Forwards - Winder

There’s every likelihood that we cut more than just 5 but those players will be replaced with (in order) pick 74, 92, RD2, RD20, RD38 so the question then becomes who’s worth persevering with ahead of a late draft/rookie pick selection

Not convinced that it’s the right thing to do but I think Shuey will likely play on, as will Redden.

Jones has been promising off half back so he should be kept imo

Strnadica, Dixon and Joyce look the most obvious delistings

Leaves 2 (or more) of Williams, Jamieson, Nelson, Witherden, Naish, Trew, West and Winder

I can make a case for and against each of them
Why do you need to make a minimum of 4 picks?

The more I look at this draft, the less enthused I am with the depth of talent. And I’m not talking about third round, I’m talking end of first round in to the second round.

There doesn’t appear to be the quality of outside players, smaller mids, or small forwards that we saw in last year’s draft, that helps make for a stronger and deeper draft.

I know you’re not necessarily looking for those players, but if other teams are, and those players aren’t there, then those teams are likely to go with best available, which might very well be a player you’re keen on.

Add in one or two potential band two compensation picks (and a possible NM priority pick) and your second round picks are being pushed back a bit.

We’ve got plenty of holes in our list and truth is our lack of depth has been exposed

With 4 picks in the first 40, we need to be using them to turnover our list via the draft or, if there’s a real lack of depth as you’ve suggested, then trade

If we only make 7 delistings at the end of this season such that we don’t go deeper into the draft than pick 38 I might as well give up moderating here because the meltdown on this board will send it to oblivion

With Abrosia Salad from Essendong getting the rising star nom, has anyone complained about Culley yet?

D'Ambrosio would have been a nice addition, but still wouldn't have fixed our main issue of lack of mids coming through.

Culley's ceiling is a lot higher, and we've already seen some samples of that in the WAFL.

This is the type of posting that will bring DS back from the shadow realm

Retired
Hurn
Kennedy

Trade
Darling he would be perfect for a Melbourne or a Collingwood
Gaff - heard Carlton are actually interested
McGovern - Bulldogs need a quality defender

Those above 3 have actual trade quality

Delist
Zac Langdon - worst player on WCE list in a long time
Luke Strnadica - wafl player
Tom Joyce - too injured
Luke Foley - too vanilla
Jackson Nelson - has regressed as a player delist

His decision making has always been suspect, but his kicking has dropped right off. If it's because he's still injured, then he should be off for recovery now.

F me, we would be insane to trade Darling or Gov. Both offer us much more value staying than selling low for a second rounder. We are still drafting and developing our KPP depth and need both on field for the next few years, while the next wave of KPP develop.

No Darling would see Allen lead the forward line with no established second tall forward. It would come down to Waterman (undersized) or B/J Williams (inexperienced).

Similarly in defence. Look at this week without Gov against Richmond. We chose to go undersized on Reiwoldt and gave away goals. The only alternative is H Edwards who is inexperienced.

Gaff could be traded, but there's no point unless we need to clear salary cap. I'd prefer to get him fit and play him on a wing where he actually excelled in the past.

Darling would only trade if we got a good offer

McGovern is a 15 game a season player at best, we should definitely look at trading him.

We have Barrass and we keep developing H Edwards and Bazzo and even Callum Jamieson who has played down back at wafl level

Darling might actually fetch a bit of we could shift him.

Bulldogs, Collingwood, Essendon, Melbourne from Vic alone would be interested I'd think.

If we could get a first rounder, you'd have to think about it.

He can be named on a big… big or small he is never within 5 metres of his man…. An issue if ur a defender
