Dinosaurs like T-Bell and Goldy aren't great for the 6-6-6

You need mobile ruckmen who can get around the ground fast, link up play in defence and midfield and execute by foot and hand when called upon.

T-Bell was outworked and outplayed by a kid who has played less than 20 games and his disposal was woeful.

Too many one way runners. At least Guelfi runs hard, tackles hard and had a couple of smothers. Zaka and others were pedestrian like.

Stewart and Smacks swapping Ruck/FF allows you an extra mid on the bench.

Need speed and people who can get the hard ball (the two GWS boys are the only ones at the moment digging in) but they are under pressure every time.

People with skills and can ****** kick a goal. Raz has Joey's YIPS!

The 666 rule means nothing 15 seconds after the bounce.

Slow inside mids aren't great for the 6 - 6 - 6 either.. Pity we have a plethora of them

Just don't pay the fine. Nothing happens. Trust me. Parking fines and public transport fines mean nothing. Throw them in the bin. If you get driving fines that have points attached to them get a psychologist to write a letter, have the fine reduced greatly, points cut in half and Then make a deal to pay it off at $5 per month.

Sorry to intrude, but getting a psychologist/medical practitioner to write a letter does work. You'll be surprised. Best of luck.

I still think 3-3 after 6 is possible, There were glimpses at stages today, I know we can't hang our hat on glimpses...

Shiel, McGrath and Merrett will become dynamic as the year unfolds and Francis and Hurley looked a good duo.

Not sure on Worsfold but I'll give us the 6 weeks before i fully judge.

WE COULDNT GET THE JOB DON AGAINST ****ING ST.KILDA FFS

They have (what I thought) was a nothing list. Sadly for us. A team such as there's can beat a team of talented individuals like ours.

Disagree. They can't fill a hole down back nor not touch the ball anymore. They can now be more responsible and playmakers and linkmen.

If you kick it to a ruckman who is fast around the ground and excels by hand and foot it releases 1) Space and 2) a free player if the loping lummox playing on them is 15 metres away meaning someone has to come off their man to impede.

I don't think this point can be emphasised enough.

Posters confuse Bellchambers being prepared to smile while he is pushing someone with Bellchambers being prepared to have a physical impact on a game. Yes he has mongrel is prepared to act like a total dickhead but it is in no way useful.

He's symbolic of the whole team. The occasional bit of style over any prolonged substance. You know what would be really nice, given that we'll refuse to player Draper? If we had Tom Campbell, who started his career in our system, as a back up who could at least put some pressure on and be a physical presence. Instead we have Zac Clark who, you guessed it, was delisted because he was a ruckman who lacked physical presence.
Back in my day John Kennedy Sr addressed my footy team and said that a ruckman sets the attitude for the whole side. He said the only time every player on the ground is focussed on the contest is when the two big blokes go at it. The rest of the game there are distractions and other things going on. I think there's a truth to that. Bellchambers picks and chooses when he wants to have a go.

YEAH, every 4 years

Why is everyone so shocked, some people have been pushing for something to change for 12 months.
You think it's bad now, wait for next year after Francis, Hurley, Smith, Saad, Stringer and Shiel want out.
The Club has lost the balls to make any decisions whatsoever, we are like a chook on a rotisserie, ****ed.

Essendon was trying to set up the ground behind the ball. We did it last year for 8 weeks and looked like shit. Got rid of it for the next 14 and looked excellent.

Is that what you are calling it. The first half looked to me like a bunch of blokes putting in a half arsed effort with little work rate and a truck load of turn overs against a side prepared to run harder and work their zone defence better.
There was no particular strategy about it. It certainly was not the game plan.

I have already said the Saints are better than a lot of people thought. They where an 11 win side that lost a couple of ageing champs and never got rolling early last year. Before last season they where a decent pressure side. We should have beaten them at our best and they are not a great side but they can play with some heart which is something we often do not. Be ready for more pain as there are a number of issues with the list right now . We are a better side than the first half last night but there are serious gaps in the midfield , we lack role players who will play team first footy, our leadership overall is bloody ordinary and we drop too many marks and turn the footy over. Talent will not get it done if they are only prepared to work one way and on their own terms.

Nah. You can’t simply do a quick restructure in 15 seconds. Maybe we are trying to do this instead of actually adapt. This would explain brain fades like Langford and guelfi going to the bench instead of chasing the ball. Too much system not enough playing footy.
