This is same Governor who Trump told his followers to Liberate Michigan in a tweet in a previous lock down
Yes, Trump is deliberately dividing America... which is a worry when you have so many crazy gun carrying Americans.

Fortunately none of our leaders have encouraged violence as a solution in Australia.

Actually, on some stats vote wise yes but pure radicals are still a major minority in the US, But Trump is doing something the FBI has struggled to do in years, He actually bringing them out into the open, and exposing the leader and splinter groups,
I will say it not Trump design, it's he just so stupid or arrogant he does not know what he doing,

Would not surprise me if more of these type's of arrests happen before and after the election, Let face these radicals are posing for pictures.

These aren’t some of the sharpest tools in the shed - again likely to be uneducated white males.

From the Age today, my underlining. Statistics from the Vic government itself about the impact of the lockdown. Reason #17 why the lockdown should be no more severe and no longer than necessary. Sadly it is looking like the easing of restrictions won't occur on October 19 as hoped, as we have another couple of clusters firing up.

"31 per cent increase in Victoria's young people presenting for mental health problems By Lucy Stone

Young people under age 17 are the age group experiencing the highest increase of presentations for mental ill-health during the second wave of Victoria's COVID-19 crisis, according to Victoria's Health Minister Martin Foley on World Mental Health day.
Mr Foley said for a period recorded up until a week ago, there was 31 per cent more people under 17 years of age presenting for treatment than the same period a year ago.

Across all age groups there had been a 5.7 per cent increase in potential self-harm and suicide ideation presentations in emergency departments, but was at a lower rate than earlier in the second wave.

Any whispers on if the enforced $3000 hotel quarantine is going to be lifted for people returning to Australia?

A lot of countries are announcing that people travelling from select origins don't even need to do the 2 weeks quarantine.

If I have to pay it so be it, but I think it's been handled very poorly. $840 for 2 weeks food is a joke.

$60/day sounds about right. Can't see how it could get much cheaper while remaining catered. You should be able to opt out and use contactless delivery options though.

One of the small number of restrictions recently relaxed in metro Melbourne was allowing visitors in to Aged Care Homes. The Age reports today:

'Big trouble': No clear plan to prevent another nursing home disaster by Aisha Dow

"Senior doctors charged with responding to Victoria’s deadly nursing home clusters have warned there is no clear plan to counter another wave of coronavirus in aged care...Associate Professor Michael Murray was the geriatrician lead of the Victorian Aged Care Response Centre….“We are working hard, we are planning, but we are going to need some lead time, because if we get another outbreak in short order, we are in big trouble,” he said.

Dr Claire White, the leading geriatrician at Western Health where one of the new hubs is based, said the hubs were yet to receive any funding”

I thought a basic shopping list you fill in would be best option. 2 boxes of cereal. Some bread, eggs, cheese, fruit, veg, beans, snacks Etc. Easy food that can be microwaved. One of delivery would be as contactless as you can get

I'm probably just used to this backpacking life. Costs in Australia are just so much more than I am willing to usually pay.

That would be awful I reckon. Should be a deal with local woolies or Coles. Deliveries every other day. Truck pulls up, orders are placed into position in foyer. Guests are called down one at a time to collect their stuff. I can understand that there might be concerns with 50 Uber eats drivers all turning up at 6pm, but reality is that the collection of orders is still controlled by security at the entry point.

The issue would be the contractor only taking it on under certain conditions to guarantee the volumes. And forced quarantine would require having catering for those who would otherwise refuse to live off microwaved meals for 2 weeks. So it turns into an all or nothing scenario and nothing probably isn't an option.

I think you would find that the price wouldn't change even if you could opt out of the catering.

The hotels cannot sell rooms to the public, nor have functions, run any bar or resturants that cannot be accessed solely from the street whilst hosting returning internationals and so would require compensation in order to agree. Including catering serves this purpose.

Very true. Still grinds my gears close to 20 other countries have systems in place more supportive to their people than us. And that's just the ones I have friends in and have asked.

Which are these countries that are more supportive & what are their governments doing?

In terms of commonwealth funding to keep monies & pockets of people & business, they have done more than most countries.

Guy got on the tram just before not wearing a mask and wearing a blue hat that said "Make Victoria Great Again"

I can only assume the dude is a goose and has been at the 'freedom rallies'

So many dumb asses in that video. Again, no surprise the majority are white male and probably uneducated.
Lol Kirky you’re so opposite of these imbeciles you just have to be a black female school teacher. 🤪

On my Jetstar flight from cairns to Adelaide on Friday only 1 of the flight attendants wore a mask and a couple directly behind me but hardly any of the passengers. Me and my kids put them on at the start, took a photo and after my glasses fogged up I took mine off. It was not enforced in any way.

Dan Andrews' right hand man takes his bullet. Meanwhile Sky News blokes reckon Anastasia is in huge trouble. Andrew Clennell and Tom somebody, they actually do a decent political news show. Clennell reckons she cannot survive this, must go.

That Peter Ashton should go too. How can you not remember who you received instruction from? Surely he'd only take instruction like that from 2 or 3 people.
