Dan Andrews' right hand man takes his bullet. Meanwhile Sky News blokes reckon Anastasia is in huge trouble. Andrew Clennell and Tom somebody, they actually do a decent political news show. Clennell reckons she cannot survive this, must go.

That Peter Ashton should go too. How can you not remember who you received instruction from? Surely he'd only take instruction like that from 2 or 3 people.

Why in god’s name would Anastasia be in trouble?

Anything on Sky News isn’t worth pissing on. RWNJ and Trump lovers predominantly.

Just twigging that Gladys was banging the guy in question. Just going into a private session to listen to a call that must have some naughty discussion as everything has been public so far.

Haven’t been following this.

What is the main issue here?

darryl Maguire apparently used his parliamentary role to gain extra $. He had to resign at some point. Gladys was shagging him while he was doing this. They've got phone taps where they've made it clear that Gladys was aware he was in some financial strife. I think they're trying to tie his financial trouble and subsequent rule breaking to that impacting her decisions as premier. looks like she's in strife.

One of the small number of restrictions recently relaxed in metro Melbourne was allowing visitors in to Aged Care Homes. The Age reports today:

'Big trouble': No clear plan to prevent another nursing home disaster by Aisha Dow

"Senior doctors charged with responding to Victoria’s deadly nursing home clusters have warned there is no clear plan to counter another wave of coronavirus in aged care...Associate Professor Michael Murray was the geriatrician lead of the Victorian Aged Care Response Centre….“We are working hard, we are planning, but we are going to need some lead time, because if we get another outbreak in short order, we are in big trouble,” he said.

Dr Claire White, the leading geriatrician at Western Health where one of the new hubs is based, said the hubs were yet to receive any funding”
What QLD has done at the merest hint of an outbreak, has shut down nursing homes in the particular region where a cluster has sprung up. That means no visitation, no staff bouncing between homes etc. Hard to tell if it would be successful in a major outbreak, but so far it seems to be working for us.

Meanwhile "SKY NEWS" (Murdoch henchmen) say Anastasia can't win. HAHA

Thanks make sense. Look at what the successful states are doing and copy them!

Graham Ashton - yes, I said as much a while back that he is clearly dodgy.

Good to see the Commission request phone records given the Sargent Shultz's from most involved. 1st scalp Clennell, but should be plenty of others.

They have been more intent on cover-ups than being honest over this debacle.

From the Age today. Presumably the bit that shocks Denial Andrews is that his own chief of staff used his own mobile? The funny thing with this is that if they'd owned up they could have run "all the other states used them" line and that probably would have worked. But the avoidance & denial and issue dodging has actually made this into a big deal.

Andrews 'shocked' to learn of phone call as Victoria's top public servant resigns By Paul Sakkal, Michael Fowler and Tammy Mills
Updated October 12, 2020 — 12.43pmfirst published at 10.03am

Chris Eccles, the most senior Victorian public servant and the head of Premier Daniel Andrews' department, has resigned after being asked to hand his phone records to the state's hotel quarantine inquiry.

The records show Mr Eccles called then-police chief commissioner Graham Ashton in a key six-minute period on the day Victoria's ill-fated hotel quarantine program was established. Mr Eccles, a veteran public servant who has run departments in NSW and South Australia, said he stood by his evidence that he did not make the decision to use private security in quarantine hotels and he had resigned in order to not distract from the work of the government.
Mr Andrews said he was shocked to learn the phone records revealed Mr Eccles had spoken to Mr Ashton.

"I was shocked when I was informed last night that this call had been made and that a detailed examination of his records had shown that," Mr Andrews told reporters on Monday.

Interesting she remained in a relationship with him long after he was forced to resign for his dodgy dealings.

Strange choice for a Premier.

Dan Andrews is either the most naive premier of all time &/or thinks he can get by lying to the public. Neither is good.

I only just happened across it today. The Clennell guy was saying how weird it was seeing that she should have known there was a good chance of ongoing taps. Basically they're saying that even if there's nothing really obvious, just the lack of judgement is enough for Her to need to go.

Unless there's obvious COI, surely who you bonk is your business?

He does actually come across as naive. But maybe that's his "charm"?
I think he is a dreadful premier and would like him out of the job asap - but I have to say that he strikes me as very intelligent (and by the way, incredibly hard-working and well-intentioned). One of my sons talks about people who are "booksmart but streetdumb". I reckon there is point in politics where it's probably hard to tell the difference between spin and reality & if you don't have trusted adviser to keep you grounded you get in strife.

Imagine if she was a Labor leader dating a union official
