Well, we all have our opinions and I'd be inclined to agree with you (though I don't think the Pies are slow per se) but I was just pointing out how the Magpies' youthful pace was a theory that was bandied about last year explaining our losses to them (and just our general poor recent record against them).

I agree with you ant. While leg speed is a decided asset, getting the ball first and then moving it on quickly are the key ingredients.

ARE THE SELECTORS BLIND???? CROWELL?!?!?!?
I Hope that the selectors change the side before Sat night, because just one change in crowell is just stupid!
Yep i fully agree with you. Crowell does not deserve his spot in the side. Correct me if im wrong, but hasnt crowell already played for us once this year and put in a terrible performance??? i dont like the guy. Doughty certainly should have been selected, with an outstanding 31 possesions last week in a losing side, the INS and OUTS should have been clear to the selection commitee...

Although i hate to say it, i think the selection came down to the position of the player, not as much as form. Crowell is a tall backman, and they needed that to fill the possy of smart, and unfortunaetly for dogga, this went against him cos he is a medium sized midfielder. I still think that if the selectors went with this notion of needing a tall backman, the position should have gone to Begley or Parker. it sucks.

Rocca didn't train today and is according to news reports is in doubt for tommorows match. if this is true then there is no reason why we sholdn't beat Collingwood.

Would possibly make it a little easier Stiffy but Rocca wouldn't be the difference between a win or a loss. The mid-field will be the key to this one.

I see Molloy has a few stitches in the face. An accidental bump around that area wouldn't be astray if any one was game or stupid enough to do that!!! ;)

I agree Rocca would not be the difference between winning and loosing but it would certainly make it a bit easier for us. Midfield is the key to this game and the team that wins the midfield and is more efficient with ball use will win this thing.

Hmmm!!!!!! I saw those stiches and it looks a bit nasty. But remember if it bleeds we can kill it:p :D

P.S. Macca23 you wouldn't know if David Kellet has been named for Central against Eagles 2moro??????

Rocca's injury (if confirmed?) evens things up with the loss of Smart - at that end of the ground anyway IMO. So that would leave Hart to take on Tarrant, McGregor for Fraser and Bassett for Molloy?

Would any of you guys say that this is a must win game for us in the context of the season? Its a HUGE game IMHO, and I feel that we really need to put all our eggs inot one basket for this match especially coming up against Brisbane at the GABBA next week with injuries to key players.

Thoughts??????
Absolutely a crunch game, as we would drop right back in the middle of the pack if we lost these 2 games. Probably even more so that we are playing a potential top-4 team, so these games may make the difference in getting a home final later in the year.

I just hope that if Rocca is out the players take it a little easy. We must be switched on tonight from the 1st bounce to ensure that the Pies don't get the jump on us like last year. Don't want to be playing catchup in wet conditions.
