Sure I was impressed in the first 3 too, but im specifically referring to the last quarter, he may well be injured, but if thats the case he cant be out there as we're effectively a man down defensively, not sure what the clearance stats were in the last but we got pantsed, and I counted at least 3 times Dangers direct opponent got the clearance due to Danger unable to tackle and/or chase.

Ok im not sure what the case was.. maybe the sub was already made or they thought an injured danger would provide more than Shaw.. and I wouldnt doubt that lol

That doesn't make him not a worthy captain though does it?

He had 29 possessions 22 contested and 7 tackles and kept us in the game in the first. He was a star and the fact he played injured is the coaches fault not a slur on Danger.

Sloane had a great last qtr but had 19 and besides the last didn't do a lot.

Thats true and it was probably hyperbole on my part to claim him not Captain material, I just feel when the chips are down Sloaney is our guy, in any case we are blessed to have 2 guys worthy of the C.

OK, I know no-one here really cares - but I just have to say it out loud. It was my birthday today (it's Saturday here), I did a winery tasting and then drove up the coast to have lobster and Margarita for $16, then "watched" a Crows win with the help of Big Footy.

Mucho bueno.

Thanks to everyone here (and the 5AA stream, and the AFL website) for making the evening. I've never internetted a game before and apart from sore thumb it worked quite nicely, thank you.

Watching a game day thread on Big Footy is scarily like looking inside my own head during a game

Flogscray may have had two posters in the 4th, but it was the Crows effort that got us back in the game and in a position to win it. The Bullflogs are Adelaide's bogey side and to win at Ethiad with the roof open to go 3-3 is pretty good if you ask me. Take the win and look forward to next week.

We keep hearing sando talk about 'controlling the game'. I sometimes get the impression the slow downs are very deliberate attempts to prevent the opposition building any momentum. If so, please more foot on throat sando!

You're probably on the money. Stuff "tempo football", need to keep the pedal to the metal.

All he needs to do, is do that against Collingwood in 3 weeks.

You don't sound very confident he can do it as you have now had a few chances to agree or to just say - wait and see.
He will have some extra help you would imagine. Think he has done all that has been asked of him so far.

Really? That was a crap win and the song had the enthusiasm I hoped for. Glad the players didn't get carried away.

Agree that the game itself was crap, but for once we didn't get completely overran in the last quarter. I would've thought that would've been worth a somewhat less forced rendition of the song.

Also not to harp on the negatives as it was a gutsy win, bit I think today showed exactly why we all think Matty J is not a long term option in defense, I'll be the first to admit he has been solid the first few games but his defensive diffeciences were on show for everyone to see today, was I the only one begging for them to put someone else on Dalhaus in the last?

A great win by the boys, after a terrible first 40 minutes (down 11-39) we took over and completely dominated the dogs for the next 60 minutes (won 53-3). And after falling behind half way thru the last qtr we came back and held off the dogs (they were always going to lift in the last quarter).

This is a very important win that will set up our season. For me our best were Jenkins, Pods and Sloane.
