David Wojcinski to Take 5 on Triple J

well im a triple J listener (ducks and dives stuff thrown at me)

anyway mr # 40 will be guest programming triple j with zan rowe on friday morning

usually take 5 on friday mornings on zan rowe's show has a special guest at 10am, coming into the triple j studios in ultimo, sydney. Zan sets aside a certain theme for the guest programmer, and they talk on air for an hour about the theme and share stories

the question remains: why dw? especially given how little connection he has to the music industry: although zan does indulge herself in the obscure! Occassionally getting in authors, comedians (adam hills was a highlight), Maybe dw was a schoolyard friend of zan? zan is from Essendon

personally if triple j was to get an afl connection, i would have preferred that triple j got an afl player with musical talent to take 5, for example: mcpharlin from fremantle or robertson from the melbourne demons football club...

Anyway, its not any of them! its DW: heres hoping for an entertaining hour!

maybe dw called zan and said: "hey zan, i used to go to school with you, can i be on your show?" because zan had nothing planned when she announced what was going to be on her show this week

anyway the main studio is in sydney though

the ladies would choose robertson and mcpharlin though.

Robertson is actually the model for Reserve, or some men's white collared clothing line. his face is used in the sydney myer department store, where they could have used a rugby league face instead. So he must be leaving some impression

anyway back to the subject, usually before zan introduces her guest she usually plays a song by the guest (if its a musician)

i wonder if wojcinski is going to program some Boards of canada for us haha

i am wanting to be surprised - big time! as well!

although you have to wonder? why wojcinski? there must be something about him, hes not a afl media hog type (eg brendan fevola or akemanis), nor is he going to be winning the brownlow medal any time soon (i can name about 8 players from geelong itself that stands a better chance of winning the brownlow more than him)

maybe hes another glenn manton - the kind who thinks outside the box?
although glenn manton did work in the media when he was a player

it's not unusual for stuff on triple j to be recorded in different cities. i remember when wil anderson and adam spencer did the breakfast show wil was in melbourne and adam was in sydney. wojo could be in melbourne and we'd never have to know

they usually play that kind of music when they read the national weather at 7.30-8.30. just to vehemently point out that it is NOT triple j music

Didn't hear all of it. Music wasn't to my taste, but then I'm near twice his age.

He didn't say anything earth shattering....but then you wouldn't expect him to. Only thing of interest I heard was when he first came down to Geelong he went to some concert in Geelong, got blind drunk, jumped (or was thrown) over the barrier and cut his hands on broken glass. Sure that would have gone down well at the club! lol

Zan said she used to be into footy and even regularly went to watch Essendon train. Some of her comments didn't seem to back that up though!
