There are 2 Rucks at least outside of likely 1st round pick Luke Jackson in this draft that are very draftable IMO, Gippsland Power/Vic Country's Charlie Comben and Oakleigh Charger/Vic Metro's Nick Bryan.....of the two Charlie Comben is probably my preference with more upside to come plus he's very capable up forward. Both of course will take a year or two development but offer plenty of potential going forward, both should be available mid draft I'd think unless a team is really targeting a ruckman. My gut feel is Freo will go early with Jackson but if they miss out on him I reckon they will take one of Comben or Bryan.

We definitely need to pick up a ruckman this draft or next. I hope it’s next year and it’s Thilthorpe, more a forward but he and Rob could form a great combo.
But we may just need a backup for next year as much as Rob has shown, he has a history of injury and is still young. If he tires in the season, we have nobody to take over for a game or two

I mentioned Stretch before, he is young enough and showed a bit in his draft year. Maybe Melbourne just can’t develop players, they are terrible at that

Matthew Allen from West Coast hasn't been delisted yet, but not offered a contract for next year neither as far as I can tell. South Australian, just started playing as a big bodied mid in WAFL after being played as a forward when drafted. Has taken a while to get body right, but has done well at WAFL level. 22yo, 193cm. Yet to debut for West Coast. Would be good to get him as a replacement for CEY/Greenwood if West Coast don't offer him another contract.

The worse you go the more enticing the delisted free agent pile looks.

But it's fools' gold.

We need to ask ourselves Would Richmond or one of the top clubs target this player? If yes then go hard. If no then he won't help us.

If you can get cheap depth player in a specialised position from the DFA, you take it (i.e. Longer).

If your scouts rate someone as potentially got a high ceiling, but really hasn't clicked, you go for it.

Beyond those two though, you don't touch a DFA. You certainly don't get them to make yourself competitive.

I'm definitely interested in getting one or two, providing they meet either criteria. I don't mind a tad more depth as it makes delistings easier in 2021/2022, if not 2020.

I had a stent put in a while back. I have to go in and see Peter Waddy there every 2 or 3 years

Yeah well who ever does the weights and measures at the AFC must be using crook equipment then or Jordan's been using some strong fertiliser.
