But these days I don’t mind Brown. Plus he’s from Warrnambool and my family is from Port Fairy, so we could be related. Every one is in the blustery south-west. :D
I like him too, although it does my head in that he now gets paid to talk for a living.

"They lost the clearances 12 to 2 that quarter They're going to want to lift in there don't you think Richo?"

Neil Mitchell's interview of Bridie this morning was a disgrace. He tried to catch her out but just embarrassed himself in the process. She will give no quarter!

I think Neil Mitchell interview was hard and fair. The questions he asked was valid and the membership question should of be asked again to Korda on why she was appointed despite not having the required membership tenure required. Why was she shoehorned into this position. Just because Waislitz left? Surely there are other more qualified candidates.

Also it seems from the interview that she add value to the womens program at the club. However that program with Super Netball and AFLW is already working well. We need candidates to help on the mens side.

Rubbish.

He exposed her for the shallow dimwit with an agenda she is.

Many of her answers were related to women's sport - nothing about what she is going to do about winning premierships for the Collingwood football club.

She ducked and dived more than Marvellous Marvin at his peak.

I think many have a view that the board should be directly involved in operations and bring a specific operational skill, but they're part-time volunteers. Here's what a board's general reit is:

Major Duties of Board of Directors
Brenda Hanlon, in In Boards We Trust, suggests the following duties (as slightly modified by Carter McNamara to be "nonprofit/for-profit neutral").

1. Provide continuity for the organization by setting up a corporation or legal existence, and to represent the organization's point of view through interpretation of its products and services, and advocacy for them

2. Select and appoint a chief executive to whom responsibility for the administration of the organization is delegated, including:

- to review and evaluate his/her performance regularly on the basis of a specific job description, including executive relations with the board, leadership in the organization, in product/service/program planning and implementation, and in management of the organization and its personnel

- to offer administrative guidance and determine whether to retain or dismiss the executive

3. Govern the organization by broad policies and objectives, formulated and agreed upon by the chief executive and employees, including to assign priorities and ensure the organization's capacity to carry out products/services/programs by continually reviewing its work

4. Acquire sufficient resources for the organization's operations and to finance the products/services/programs adequately

5. Account to the stockholders (in the case of a for-profit) or public (in the case of a nonprofit) for the products and services of the organization and expenditures of its funds, including:

- to provide for fiscal accountability, approve the budget, and formulate policies related to contracts from public or private resources

- to accept responsibility for all conditions and policies attached to new, innovative, or experimental products/services/programs.

Your impression was different to mine. I thought he was overly aggressive, looking for a "gotcha". He failed. I cannot recall a newly-elected board member being interviewed in such a way. In fact, it's very rare we even hear from them. How long was Sizer a member before she was elected?

There is nothing wrong with bringing on a board member to serve a particular function and not others, eg. Sizer. OD clearly hasn't been appointed to help us win more games. Not many board members are - although her aerobic engine is pretty good.

Imagine the faux outrage if she started handing out knowledge on what Bucks needs to do to get us back winning?

As for "dimwit with an agenda', would you say that to someone in person? I think not. You can do better.

That someone posited to me that bridie didn't know who we were playing this week and that she wanted AFL re-named to AFL.
That sounds like the sort of expensive yet pointless exercise the AFL (sorry, I mean the AFL) would embark upon.

Am I obliged to? You don’t have to answer that either.

Also not obliged to publicly express all my thoughts on this issue.

You're not obliged to, it just says a lot when you refuse to answer important questions then go on bizarre tangents like "well people on Bigfooty post dumb shit too so it's fine for a board member of the CFC to do so"

ha! You may have thought there should have been an M in there, but that is 2021 thinking. No extra initials at all is the way of the future. The M would be too limiting. Think John Lennon's Imagine.

What were these important questions Kap?

Korda on SEN was embarrassing imo.

Appoints this chick because of her extensive 'AFLW knowledge'

Fcuk me dead.

As soon as this campaigner is gone the better.

imo or is it imho i thought korda was pretty good. He obviously lacks charisma but I hate charisma in presidents. He gave one word answers on key questions, which I like a lot.

He did lie about bridie being a long term member...

It seems we have a great board in place to make sure our business is a well-run sporting organisation and highly palatable to consumers and potential sponsors.

I only hope we have an equally well-resourced think tank in the club designated for helping us win games of football.

If Tom Morris had studied harder he might have made it to big school and learned how to read a legal document.

Whilst it is poorly worded, my reading of that clause 30(b) allows for a board appointment to be made now and then be approved at the next GM.

Why?

Because she was involved in high level sports? That was as an individual, not as part of a team.

Because she is a medical practitioner? Do you realise how basic a medical degree is? It's a far cry from someone qualified in sports medicine, which would be much better.
Anyone who knows bicycle road-racing understands it is very much a team sport with the goal to work together to get the best result for the protected rider.

What were these important questions Kap?

1: She has been a Collingwood hater for all her adult life and now wants to sacrifice her time in an unpaid position to be a custodian of our club, why?

2: Do you think it's appropriate for the board to come out and say that Gender was a key criteria in selecting a new board member? Do you think it's fair to the majority of the applicants who were male, for them to get overlooked because of their gender?

3: Do you think it's strange she randomly becomes a Collingwood member after hating Collingwood right before she gets elected to the board? Just a PURE COINCIDENCE I guess... That an anti-Collingwood person would just one day wake up and decide to abandon their own club to support Collingwood, then join up as a member then get elected to the board almost instantly... One big coincidence right?

Oh.. but turns out she's friends with Christine Holgate... hmmm... Totally nothing odd going on there :moustache::thumbsu:

Correct Headinsand. She also sounded like an extremely arrogant unpleasant individual, as most people of her political persuasion are.

Expect us to come out and shit on Australia Day next year like some other clubs did, and disrespect the majority of our members who disagree

Did you read clause 32 on casual vacancies?

Whilst that is true, it is less of a team sport for the protected rider, and more of a team sport for everyone else!

Not a bizarre tangent at all. Just pointing out that rubbish gets posted on here, including by some who are now outraged by the tweets of our new board member. I’m not saying her tweets are ‘fine’. I’m pointing out what I see as hypocrisy.
