Not many players especially someone thats 175 cm spends more then a year on the rookie list let alone three. There is obviously something about McNeil that stands out for him to still be with the swans. Also its quite hard to break into the swans midfield if you are an inside mid so its understandable that he hasn't played a game yet. For a late pick I wouldn't be against trading for him.

Problem with McNeil is he is behind our inside mids Ala Kennedy, parker, Bolton, Bird, ROK, McGlynn etc. Also Mitchell and Lambju pushing he competing with quality. If given a go he could blossom. Just screwed by circumstance, I can't see us asking for the world so a trade should get done if you guys are keen

Perhaps the cheap deal we did with you guys for Morton was laying the foundations for this.

Possibly. We seem to have a good trade history so hopefully we can work it out. McNeil really deserves a chance in seniors

If we're looking at trading out Gus then perhaps we'd be interested in Jesse White as a back up as well. We could do worse IMO. What would the Swannies want for White and McNeil in a trade?

As for Garlett, I would happy for us to go after him but equally happy if we took Vlastuin at 9 and then Sumner/Warrell/Yarran later in the draft as more of a project player. Vlastuin is pretty much a sure thing, and we might end up with a great x-factor type player out of the latter group if we develop him right. Which I'm confident we can now we have Williams on board.

Jesse White has always looked more comfortable as a forward.

Bit of gossip thats probably not related to the Tigers but interesting none the less. Danyle Pearce from Port is seeking a 4 year deal somewhere. Basically anywhere but Port or Melbourne. Would think 4 years is a bit long for a player whos been in and out of the team in resent years.

One question, Do rookies spend as much time at the club as the people on the main list do? As i know that a couple of years back some essedon rookie(margalani i think his name was) could have stayed on essedons rookie list but he decided to return to his business as he was making more money with his business. The reason I ask this is from memory browne was studying law at Uni, so would he be able to be a lawyer and an AFL player(rookie) or would that be to difficult on him? Cause if browne was going to make more money being a lawyer I don't see why he would want to be on the rookie list where he needs to be elevated in order to get a game.

McNeil would be give another go I'd expect White probably delisted

Wouldn't Sydney be forced to upgrade him to the senior list next season if they want to keep him? I thought you had to do this after 2 seasons as a rookie but I read somewhere on here that he's been a rookie with you guys for 3?

They all spend equal time here.

It takes years for someone with a law degree to start earning big coin - they are made to spends years post graduation in clerical positions before starting to practice law...

You only have one crack a professional sport. If he has the hunger to forge a successful AFL career, he'll hapilly take the rookie lifeline, continue to do the odd unit here or there, and leave full time study until he's given up the ghost! :thumbsu:
