If you can't understand the difference between some fans booing an ex player and the entire ground booing a player who believes he was following the rules your not even as smart as your avatar looks

Shame he wasn't...

Annoying isn't it, all this talk about all the odds Essendon have overcome throughout the year. You could mount an argument previous actions have actually been an advantage throughout the season rather then the hindrance they are made out to be. Today was a good effort with the injuries - but I can't accept the whole Essendon have been up against it all year garbage.
:(

Spoken like someone with an inability to think objectively.

Whether he wasnt is hardly his fault. He's a very fair player who deserves better
Yeah and so if the Hoff, but you guys boooooooooed him all day. And he never took drugs.

If you can't understand that the Essendon fans behaviour towards boooing would be scrutinised this week (and failed) you must surely need to have a lay down with some nice calming drugs.

A few random thoughts:

Heppell was outstanding in the midfield, they utterly dominated us in the clearances (haven't seen any stats, but felt that way) and he was the bloke involved for just about all of them. His inside work is criminally underrated.

Reckon that we needed to play Butcher today, we fought pretty hard I thought, but with Westhoff and Trengove down back after quarter time, Hooker and co. had an absolute field day with some really dumb decisions made by our guys up the ground.

Bellchambers had one of those days where his marking just clunked. He's got that ability, doesn't do it every week, but no doubting that he can play and it will be interesting what Essendon will do with their glut of talls going into the finals.

Ebert and Wines worked their arses off all day through the midfield.

Stanton did exceptionally well for a guy with a screwed hamstring. Gutsy effort.

Monfries and Melksham... don't need to say any more other than what I said at the time; what the ****.

Lobbe had another very good game in the ruck, happy with the way he's coming along.

I don't think our gameplan works particularly well at Etihad. We love to scrap and fight as we have seen at AAMI this year and we did put on some impressive pressure for quite a lot of the game, but we just get burnt so easily when the ball moves quickly.

From a biased perspective, but just felt today that the little lucky things just didn't go our way. I'd hope that that's not the view the club holds internally though.

Essendon are in an excellent position to go deep into the finals, I suppose it's all down to what happens with the AFL and WADA though.

Oh ok but your not aloud to boo a guy who admitted to cheating (taking banned drugs for those playing at home) interesting.

OK so what are the reasons we can boo and not boo players for
You could always enjoy the game and not boo anyone

Of course he was going to say that he believed he was following the rules - did anyone expect him to say anything different?

Scandals generally follow the same script: deny, deny, deny, and when the pressure becomes too much, admit the truth.

For such a smart guy your logic is a bit off. You must be having an off day.

One interesting stat: For the first time since Round 1, 2000, there was over 40000 people at a game at the Docklands stadium involving the Power, well done for the locals turning up in droves.

No. I expected him to say nothing. Instead he decided to tell the truth and deserved better than that sort of treatment. Fair enough the odd boo but not a chorus from 35k.

Anyway. He seems fine so whatever. But don't try and pretend the reception Gus got was the same as Jobe's

$132, could afford it after cleaning up on Brisbane and having a nice multi come through for a change last night. Need Murray to get up tonight to complete a great weekend on the punt.

And I might think your club will get torn to shreds by the powers that be in the near future but the resilience of the players has to be commended :thumbsu:

Good on you mate, I had a great weekend also on the punt :)
