The Lace Out podcast host Chris Pepper (me) sat down with former Footscray and Richmond star Justin Charles for a chat about his career and nothing was off limits. Justin openly talks about his steroids scandal that was a first in AFL, and one he continues to reminded about today. He also shares his passionate views on his recreational drugs and gambling in the AFL, AFLW, the Essendon drugs saga, his love for Richmond, Alastair Clarkson, and lots more.

Yet to listen but anything new?

Like Benny Gale hooked him up with the juice and Robert Walls paid for it?

Actually takes responsibility for it all and gives Essendon a good spray over their saga. I was pleasantly surprised at how open he was about it all when we were talking. Give it a listen and make up your own mind!
BTW, He was only four votes off winning the Brownlow in 1996.

Do you normally sound like this or do you 'footy' it up for the microphone?

The first half an hour or so is a Richmond wank fest so don't bother listening to that. The rest was quite good, Charles absolutely hates Hird so that's interesting but the worst part was that Charles' volume was too low, worth a listen.
