We need more dangerous small and mid sized forwards as a priority.

Wrote a post about his on here in the off season but I really can’t emphasise how big those easy goal misses are in the game of AFL footy. They should be called 12 pointers. When a guy kicks a behind from 30 m out directly in front, it’s not just a goal gone begging. It’s a shot in the arm of the opposition team and their fans. It’s like an extra bonus goal for them too. The impact of those misses on a game is grossly understated by everyone in the industry. Banfield with 0-4 - **** me dead. I’m sorry but that’s unforgivable at this level. He’s not the only one to be fair. We have 0.5 goal a game Switta. Emmet who looks as raw as hell in front of the sticks.
No midfielder with an ounce of goal kicking ability apart from Brayshaw the odd time.
We need goalkickers. This forward line wouldn’t win a flag in a thousand years.

Last 4 games we've kicked totals in the 60s - just not good enough. It doesn't look as bad because we took Carlton and Port to the brink and Adelaide only managed 34 points, but we are going nowhere with those types of scores.

First week looked incredible against Brisbane nearly kicked a tonne - but that's cos our talls combined for 9 goals, a few from our smalls and midfielders - same for the next week against Norf.

Understandably Treacy is only in his second season proper and Treacy is a work in progress - our smalls really aren't reliable except to bob up for the odd goal.

I'm not worried long term about the midfield/defence except that we lack mongrel as others have pointed out - we need some malice in the middle and in not sure where it's going to come from.

Season has still started semi-positively but we need big changes personnel wise to get the right player set for a flag tilt.

We aren’t winning a flag this year that’s for sure.

You can have all the forward craft in the world, but if the ball isnt coming in to the assistance of that craft, it makes no difference.

I call them not beige. There's a fair variety in what each of them brings. If Jackson's not creative I don't know who is.

I feel like we have to throw positions out the window and play people where they can play.
Jackson is midfielder, put him on a wing if we have to but he's utterly wasted camped in the forward line, he plays best around the ball.

Really disagree with this. The games last year with Jackson and Darcy show he isn't utterly wasted up forward.

And he was noticeably crap around the ground last night.

We need to see what he can bring for an extended run. He seems to have the physical tools and skills to open our game up offensively.

Then settle Ras in a role he rotates onball and forward. See if he has it.

I would rather trial Williams crumbing forward than see Sonny in the team next week. Delean should be a no brainer. Tell him to crumb and kick goals. If possible get out when he can and get a couple of tackles. He could achieve that. When he gets worn down after three weeks, bring Williams or Walters in for a couple. Then bring him back.

Simpson has pace and movement that will bring something different. Put him in the team and leave him in.

I was at the Port game last week. He couldn’t finish the half time warm up run throughs.
He’s tired and is playing like it. Timing is off in his ruck work and marking. He needs a light week and Darcy more ruck time against the Dogs.

Seems like a cop out for the forwards, the mids have to be perfect for the forwards to have any chance. They need to be better don’t get me wrong but the forward line is not good enough to win games when the midfield isn’t dominant

I’d like to see a wing rotation of Stanley Sharp and Brayshaw. Andy needs to come out of the centre and use his running power which is his strength.

Things are not shot completely here. We need a change of capabilities if we won’t change the philosophy.

Yep, it’s why not replacing Carr is a big mistake.
WC turned back the clock, I think they have found their Mitchell replacement in Shuey.
They hunted us, knew exactly how we would line up.
Lost NN in 018, yet their 2 rucks took out Gawn and Grundy with aggression
and tagged teamed them.
Yeo always plays well and against Fyfe, Reid is leaning from a true campaigner
assistant.
They still have Hall to debut, the days of pushing them around midfield are over.
