Jeez, that's pretty freaking tough on a 21 year old. I mean, as already said, an asterisk needed due to the quality of opposition but 2 goals, 7 tackles and a few contested marks arent even close?

If he does that every week I'd wager we make finals

If he does that every game he will be an absolute bargain. I had my doubts pairing him with Darcy and on the cost. I posted a lot about that last year, and in the trade thread with a certain Dees supporter.

Long term though, I am on the side where I think he will be very, very good for a decade or more. I am expecting an AA and that he averages a goal a game.

I am ripped off my **** on Jackson hopium. I smoke that s**t for breakfast. I see a future where Jacko times his leaps so perfectly it's like someone is attending marking contests on a hoverboard, plucks the pill like its oversized fruit and then rides off laughing.

Who could forget this disgusting act when Son Son was injured in a much closer derby?

Never forget that one! That epitomises Toast fans for me.
They suck

If it were up to me this act would incur the death penalty

It is a sad indictment of how bad it is in a two team town.Back in my dim dark past, it was great to go watch the WAFL and banter with the opposition, but now it makes one shudder should an opposition supporter sit along side us at the game.
We really, as West Aussie lost the ability to banter at games.
Yep I hate the Yellas. I am not sure how many times I have been offered tickets to the Yellas derby.Knocked them back every time. I shudder to think of all that dribble and Yella around me.
I had an obnoxious one sitting two up from me. On the turps all day, trying to bait me. Bet every time he tried I just yelled louder.
They really are something else aren't they.

Good points.

You could go to a tough WAFL game ( the true derby ), and hear some great banter , but I never felt in danger. You went to the game, and had a drink with your mates during the game.

At the AFL, the atmosphere is different. Maybe at the WAFL there were a lot more families, who balanced the bantering. At the AFL it seems people are tanked before they get to the game.

In summary it comes down to when people are starting their drinking sessions. At the WAFL, it was generally at the ground. At the AFL, people are tanking up long before they enter the ground.

mike91 and Joao other Jackson doubters, I'm not trying to be a smart arse but judge how much hopium I'm huffing, if that game on the weekend is close to the baseline we can expect from Jackson each week for this year, is that good enough to not be too upset at the trade for now?

Would want continued improvement (which we should get) moving forward but I thought he was pretty influential and showed more than a couple of glimpses of what we paid for.
If he can average this over the year, then he will be a solid player and hopefully he improves the next 5 years and becomes a star.

1.5 goals a game.
10 plus possessions
7 plus tackles and marks

Why did they send Liam Ryan out there with a torn tendon? I guess when it’s your grand final you gotta do these things to try and win the game 🤷‍♀️

It’s strange. No bench so your players are bound to run out of steam and get run over eventually, there’s absolutely no point in risking putting him back on. Wonder if it exacerbated that injury.

The strapping seemed to be in the knee area , So is the injury at the narrow end of the hammy ?Mcgoverns was near the buttocks which is more common for a tendon injury.

G'day all. I've served my ban and ready to have my 2 cents.

Not too much on the game was pretty self explanatory. We won but played ok. Nothing to cheer about, they lost 4 of there b22 and were still in it in the 4th quarter. Henry was terrible, serong was elite, Aishwarya understed, Jackson stepped up a bit still can't mark a football. Our tacking is embarrassing. Taberner needs to * off yesterday.

Now, I was banned from a freo forum by a fellow freo supporter for saying "love Eagles injuries " then had a whinge at the sensitivities from some of the crew on this site. Meanwhile, you had an eagle fan on here TROLLING us after our momentus win with impunity. Was he banned? No! Disgraceful by the mods and other fellow snowflake zealots on here who would rather spare the feelings of the brave Eagles players than kick them when they're down. If that's what the modern freo fan has become (online) then that's a disgrace. They HATE us and we HATE them and if only we gave as good as we get we'd have a hint of respect.
What's with the Aishwarya line? You wouldn't be a bit of a ********er would you?

Not gonna lie I find the "Its their Grand Final" incredibly childish from both our supporters and their, give it a rest ffs its the derby of course its a big and exciting game!

Have any of our fans actually ever said that? I haven't seen it before.

Was the free kick count really 10-zip in the 3rd quarter??

I kept telling myself that I was being irrational thinking we were getting royally shafted but * me that does explain at least a chunk of the momentum they built. Especially since at least a few of those frees lead directly to goals. Not to absolve the performance because if we'd just been able to hold on to the ball for 2 minutes we'd have arrested momentum but still, that differential is absurd.

Williamson really lifted.
Williamson: he's a disgrace with a raging hard on for Darling.

He’s not a key forward, took 2 games for the coaches to realize but finally played him in a variety of positions, onball / ruck / 3rd tall and he did reasonably well in all of them.

He’s 21 and making seasoned midfielders wince in pain when he tackles them. He’s the perfect foil for our undersized midfield. Couldn’t be happier.

Hopefully the coaches persist with his current mix of roles.

There was a home game a few yrs ago against Essendon where the bombers were smashing them ,after half time the free kick count was something like 18 to 1 in favour of west coast .I believe it was after that the AFL stepped in and stopped West Australians umpiring wet toast games for a while .There differential over a Ten yr period was incredibly lopsided and very hard to explain

the dogs had one year where they had one more frees paid for than against and everyone called it out but the eagles went 10 years...

Shuey, Hams, and multiple Selwood's. Plus other joining in the drop of the knees act.
