Really happy with Perryman can play on every line. Smooth mover that uses the ball well. Only 21 I think. Would be a great get. Would take a bit trade wise probably our first (this year or next) and CCJ most likely, that I’m not so much a fan of. Leaves us very light on in the KPPs with only Chol and Miller outside of best 22 . Excited to find out which kid, if it’s a kid from gws I hope it’s either Green, Caldwell or O’Halloran (my guess is O’Halloran). I would take PDow if it didn’t cost much. Worth a shot and I reckon our boys could give him his confidence back/get him back on track. Probably won’t be this upcoming trade period. Carlton like to properly ruin players.

It kills me but I wouldn’t begrudge Pickett making the most coin he can of his most likely short career, for his family. I would HATE to lose Graham or RCD and ideally I want to re-sign them and Nank (if we lose CCJ we can’t lose Nank!). Broad I would miss but also wouldn’t begrudge him if he left to make some more coin. Caddy I would shop to see if there are any takers. Markov I’d re-sign.

Surprised by this. The coach at my old side was involved match day at scumwood for several years and loved Longmuir and highly rates him tactically
Gives him all the credit for their plan to undo us in the preliminary 2018.

I don't watch much freo but from what I've seen longmuir looks like a pretty nice bloke, although the culture issues at freo seem to be fairly self-evident, as I said in another thread it's surely a bad sign for 4 players to have quit the club before the year is over

Perryman is a up and coming gun. Not sure how people can't see that.

Young doozy for mine as he will be a jet in 2-3 years and move onto a wing in no time.

Also if we manage to get Cerra for Pickett then where do I sign? Cerra has played some good footy this year so shocked people aren't willing to give up a mid season rookie who has been ok if being honest for a young gun top 5 pick.

It would take a lot more than Pickett. If you told me we could give up our late first in a weak draft and Pickett for Cerra I would do it.

CCJ and a pick for Perryman.

Keep Nank and Soldo.

Would set out midfield up for years with:

Bolton, Cerra, Perryman, RCD coming through.

Exactly this, imagine if roles were reversed and we were trading Cerra for Pickett. We would not be happy. Peter Bell has shown he drives a hard bargain for contracted players so can’t see us getting Cerra. Unfortunately if Pickett decides to go home to Freo we aren’t in a good position to get much for him as he is uncontracted and won’t have other clubs chasing him. Sucks but also can’t begrudge him making as much as he can and the fact that he has 4 young kids would probably make him want to have more freedom back home rather than being in Victoria with the restrictions he and his family might face.
Unfortunately I think our covid situation could make it harder for Victorian clubs this off season.

Perryman woud be an astute pick up now I know who he is , nank ( off contract) will be the collateral not CCJ . Direct swap p o s s I b l y , or we may ask for a 2r slider if we throw in a third . We putting up a dual premiership ruck , that’s a reg in top side with above average numbers , they’re getting a good deal
Pickett should be signed , though the further the season goes , more likely he may get a decent offer elsewhere, the doubts he may have already peaked are quickly evaporating by the week

I’m starting to think we should make some tough calls on players like Broad, Astbury, Caddy, Castagna, McIntosh, etc. at the end of the year. Guys who have peaked but aren’t necessarily stars/irreplaceable. It’s what we did with B. Ellis and can anyone say we’ve missed him that much this year? There have been times he would’ve been handy when we were crucified by injuries, but I don’t think we’d be any higher on the ladder if we retained him.

It’s a lot of depth and experience to shed and I’m not suggesting they all go, but hardly any of them contributed in arguably our best performance of the season. Broad has seemingly fallen out of favour, Astbury is no guaranteed starter with Balta on fire and Dimma opting for run > height in defence, Caddy can’t get a game, Castagna is Castagna and McIntosh, while having a good year, isn’t anything more than an honest foot soldier.

If we don’t start making tough calls we face the possibility of losing guys like CCJ, RCD, Graham, Stack, Egg-Smith, Baker, Bolton, Chol, Ross, Higgins, Balta, Dow, Turner, etc. and instead of one Butler situation on our hands, we have seven or eight haunting us for the next ten years.

We need to continue to keep our list fresh otherwise we will hit a cliff and become the next Hawthorn. They neglected youth while they were in their window and they are now facing a very grim rebuild after years of trying to avoid it.

Some of those names yes, its about being smart with the who. Some of those young guys are expendable/tradable too.

Ok this is not confirmed but I wont break a confidence by sharing it. We have asked the question about Dow from Carlton, its just not working for him there. Apparently and the mail is pretty strong on this, his family feels he is being mismanaged at the blues. He has zero confidence in himself now but they continue to play him particularly in the wrong position which is midfield.

Due to how his brother is thriving at our club, naturally the noise is he would love to join us. Guess we will see where this will go.

Awesome news. People are probably quick to forget that Dow is a top 5 pick and Carlton are extremely poor at developing kids. Dow Dominates the twos, think we could make him a player.

Betting that the only people or players that have an issue with Longmuir are the ones he's shown the door to, or given an ultimatum to, as part of an overdue cleaning of house at Freo. Freo are on the improve big time under Longmuir. Calling bs on any Longmuir probs.
