A resounding win against Brisbane cements the Cats as a flag contender this year. Even though the Lions applied poor pressure all night on the Geelong ball mover's, the Cat's defensive game and scoring from turnovers proved too strong for the struggling bottom club. This is how you'd expect a top team to perform against a bottom one at this time of year. And given how flaky the results have been so far this season, Cat's fans can breathe a sigh of relief their team is doing it right.

The Cats Coaching Dept. and players deserve to be congratulated in how they've turned the side around after the loss to Essendon earlier this year. They needed to change their game plan, and they got it right with this strong defensive game they're now playing. I've been skeptical this team has what it takes to be successful in September, but I'm seeing things now that give me hope.

They did what they had to do tonight.

Go Cats.

Not much to say about that game, supporters pre-game jitters were proven to be unwarranted. No injures.

On an individual note, things didn't come off today for Buzza but he presented well, got his hands to the ball deep inside 50 on multiple occasions. It won't be long before he marks those.

He looked tonight as someone who possibly could take over from Hawkins when he retires..

Browny commentating about Zorko tonight was honestly Bruce on Cyril levels of f*cked!

At least the Brown Dog has the excuse that as an ex-Lion he can show his bias. But Bruce on Cyril? And any other Hawk? Come out, Bruce. We all know what the score is so nobody's gonna judge you on that. Just come out, okay?

That may not have been our best game of the season, but how can you not be happy with a 14 goal win?

Ultimately we played 4 quarters, the whole 22 were involved and as a team we looked dangerous.

Selwood was a little scratchy, but his last actually game was against the Eagles - didn't play last week and I'm not counting his 47 seconds against Freo. So when you consider it's been 24 days between matches it kinda makes a bit more sense him looking rusty - and ultimately he will be better next week for the run tonight, and much better than if he was to miss another week without a match under his belt before taking on the Hawks
