Dahl had 4 tackles and led the team in pressure acts..you cant fault his workrate. The issue is he cant kick over a jam tin..whether hes lost power from the groin injury i dont know but when we have a fully fit list he will or at least should struggle to get games.

Awful. We are nowhere near it, and I'm not sure Cameron fixes that. Our contested ball improved tonight, however, our entries into forward 50 really expose just how important a player Ablett was for us.

It's not too far a reach to state that Ablett and Taylor out are hurting us up forward and down back far more than we gave credit for.

On our players, I actually thought Dahl was much improved tonight, and Rohan at least provided a ton of effort (multiple chase downs in the last and a missed chase from D50 to just outside their forward 50 was massive work rate).

Kolo was actually alright tonight too and had his first real decent game for the year, and Close was solid again.

Thought Guth had one of his worst nights, but he's earned that, and Sel was kept very very quiet by some skinny annoying no name in Turner.

The guy who absolutely burned us though, was one Patrick Dangerfield. Perhaps one of the worst games I've ever seen him play, and just looked like he was nowhere near being an effective contributor. Would love to see how many turnovers he created.

My worst on ground was once again Stanley, who got comprehensively beaten again, and gave us no ascendancy in the middle.

Can't see us winning next week, and think we're in for a real reality check come the next 3 games. Cameron being held back is utter stupidity IMO, as we're a quarter of the season in, and he's still not looking likely to okay until at least Round 7 - for what was apparently a 3 week 'minor' injury.

We had so many entries, but very few effective ones, so that is the main area that should be focused on all week on the track. Also, fix up damn goal kicking and give Hawkins a spray and tell him to play in front rather than wrestling and trying to get it out the back. Leading forwards are back with the new rules, and he is not playing the right away to utilize that to maximum effect.

Can't see how we win next week, but hoping for a significant improvement against the Eagles.

I'm not sure how to read this cause it seems that you are saying Jenkins is a better option than Hawkins. I mean seriously what the fu** has this board become when we have people making arguments about how Jenkins is superior to hawkins. Give yourself the year off sir

I mean let's be honest what a waste of salary cap Jenkins has been

Parfitt and Stewart the two standouts. Henderson and Duncan were good too. The game was shithouse but it was entirely expected. With the month we have coming up there needs to be some pretty hefty improvement.
Great game for Parfitt, I just hope we can see him take the next step against the better teams...

He had no idea............ on how to play forward.

Might be better in defence or ruck long term but i thought he showed signs..for a young tall who isnt physically ready yet he has some good attributes to work with.

so are the fantasy scores. You can accumulate 15 kicks with an efficiency of 40% and still be the leading player on the field opposed to someone who literally turns a game on it's head and helps bank you the 4 points.
It's like you are awarded for trying rather than rewarded for being the better overall football player.
Yep. Happens all the time.

On the positive De Koning showed some real talent without the polish would love to see him develop similar to an Oscar Allen at West Coast 3rd tall and ruck.

Close had another good game

Stewart, Parfitt collect the vouchers today

Adelaide are paying most of his salary anyway so we arent paying him much and hes a necessary backup for a side in a flag window.

Ziebell with 38 touches, 33 kicks and 946 metres gained playing off half-back. Our 'defensive' forwards are literally useless when you're getting torched this badly.
The ball movement is too quick for our defensive forward set up to work. Oppo has numbers back before we push up and when they rebound out again our mids are caught running with the ball flying over their head and out of defensive position.

There is just going to be a lot of trial and error getting a new game style rolling because what we had last year doesn't seem to be possible with the new rules.

Short got a hold of us in the GF last year as well. Something we need to get better at because a lot of teams these days rely on scores generated from the back half. Teams walk it out on a regular basis.

It was very obvious that De Koning will be a gun player - he moves well, kicks the ball nicely, takes a mark and will end up taking plenty before he's finished. He was after all AA full back in the U-18s.

Holmes was great in the VFL; he will be a very good player for us. He should replace Dalhouse next week. Jarvis and Stevens were good too.

Rohan was appalling - can't get the pill, drops marks etc etc. He needs a spell in the VFL to think about things.
His another one like Dahlhaus and Kolo, must have photos of Chris Scott with a sheep....

That what raised on Krock after the match, and with the new kick-in from a behind rules, once you leave the goal square it counts as a disposal to the player whereas a kick taken within the goal square isn't added to the players individual tally

Our final score today was 10.17 and it seems Ziebell took a good number of the kick-ins, so everytime he ran out of the goal square it's another kick to his tally, and if he runs 10m before kicking it 40m, that's 50m gained just from kicking in from a behind

That's then on the team to set up better from a behind and not allow the guy taking the kick in easy options

Even if he took 10 of and you subtract them that's 28 and 446m in the old money which is still a good innings
