Scott said today that Motlop has been carrying an injury and will need to be managed leading up to the finals to get him right.
Lol......whatever
This is the beginning of the end for that freeloader

I know I'm well and truly in the minority here, but Stanley out has me a bit worried. He was clearly better than Smith in the ruck last week, and coming up against Kruezer will be tough. Smith has been poor for a few weeks now and I'm worried he's going to do what he did last year - start the season well but drop off towards the end.

If he has one of his stinkers this week we could be in trouble, unless Buzza can step up and at least compete in the ruck. I'm not confident he can, but he has already shown more up forward than I expected, so fingers crossed he can surprise me.

Great to see Buzza get another opportunity in any case, but if it were up to me it would be Kolo out rather than Stanley and Taylor predominantly in the back line.

Really happy with all the ins, actually.

The best thing that could happen this week is our mids dominate and we never select 3 rucks ever again.

Why couldn't they just say Motlop was omitted? I guess if he is 'managed' then it might keep his stock a tiny bit higher and he'll get a better contract giving us a better FA pick.
Why should they lie?
He needs a week out, not VFL, rested, managed.

Motlop out? Stanley out? Buzza back?

Very raw, but already like the way he hits the packs with abandon and creates an uncertainty for opposition defenders not seen in many years.

He starts clunking a few, and we get a few smalls around his feet picking off the crumbs, and we might just be onto something
What's good about him is he will do things that create opportunities for his team mates as opposed to Stanley and Menzel (and perhaps Motlop) who are straight up and down about their opportunity and don't bring anyone else into it. Hawkins can't do it all here.

Not sure if I've commented on possible selections - if I did earlier in the week then scraping them for a new choice:

Ins: Mackie, Thurlow, Parfitt, Buzza
Outs: Blicavs (inj, no more wrestling moves), Motlop (managed), Kolo (omit/managed/emergency), Stanley (GDFL netball league)

Buzza to provide Smith with a chop out in the ruck
Bloody great post! Not far off the mark and I did lol at the Stanley comment. :D

Scott has openly said that certain blokes don't respond well to criticism or scrutiny. Maybe this was the clubs way of protecting the little snowflakes ego
True, I did hear him say that.
But why does he mention that they want to manage him and get him right by the end of the season?
Sounds as if he has a lingering .. something.

Who helps out Smith in the ruck? Buzza? Buzzarre imho.
This is the week Stanley may have found some confidence
Stanley was just too much of a liability mate. A change needed to be made and it was. Buzza has played the role well plenty of times at VFL level and will bring some competitiveness and aggression to the contest that Stanley and a few of our other big blokes lack.

Even if Buzza doesn't do much, we've lost nothing. Get behind him!

Or they don't see it the same way as some here do, ergo that they need to make a decision.

They need to. Having them both makes it much harder for the oppo to sit on the other defenders and leave those 2 free and force them to kick it. Much harder to do if only one of them is in the side.

There is a three pointers to eliminating Carltons whole game. Number one is eliminating Bryce Gibbs. He is the heart of that midfield when he isn't shining, Carlton will not win, simple as that. Solution - Scott Selwood should be the one to tag him out of the game.
Scooter to Gibbs, Joel to Murphy, Danger to Simpson, Duncan to Cunningham, Thurlow to Fisher, Guthrie to SPS to start with we will see how we go during the game.

Number two is elimintaing their run off half back. Docherty and Plowman love to drift in to help out their midfield. Putting a stop to this is essential, both have penetrating Kicks inside 50 and both can drift up the pitch creating problems for our HFF. Solution - Murdoch should be the one to tag Docherty out of the game, it's the simple things that Murds seems to understand best. If Docherty is down on confidence then Plowman will be too raw and not good enough to step up.

Number three is stopping their intercept players. When we kick the ball inside 50 it has to be either penetrated deep or to a lead. Carlton have Weitering and Marchbank both with very good hands, Jones is a crock of Shit. It is essential we don't ram the ball inside 50 like an amateur u12 side. Assess the options and kick to one on ones, Buzza, Hawk and Taylor will most likely win in those situations.

If we eliminate one maybe two of the pointers than we will slap the crap out of them. Eliminate all three and we will have a party out there. But if we let them off like it's Dennis Allens bail sentence, then we could very well be in danger of slipping to the Blues.

All Buzza has to do is break even with Casboult when he goes into the ruck, shouldn't spend much time going up against Kreuzer really..

Good luck with that.
I think I know how they'll go and you won't be pleased. Me, well I don't share the same levels of fear as others over it.

I dunno if typing on a computer connected wirelessly to the internet gave it away or not, but this is the 21st Century. We're supposed to a little more....er....thoughtful about people's mental states.

Whats the latest on GHS, didnt think his injury was this bad.
Yes wonder what's happening. We need him in case we want to rest some players before finals. We should give Menagola and Danger a week off before the crunch games.
