One of our local radio posters then said there was a 'Big Announcement' about Travis Boak, and I came on this board to tell you that is was most probably in relation to the Girl Friend rumours that have been floating around, as the Nova presenter is friends with Travis and would usually not discuss Football.

I have no idea if Boak is staying at Port or leaving.... I am leaning towards the fact that I can't see why our party went over there unless it was a last ditch effort to change his mind... nothing else makes sense.. UNLESS it was planned ages ago and he wanted to just have a chat...

The media will make it an issue for a few days and then focus on whatever Collingwood or Carlton are doing. **** the media.

I can't believe how much this thread has deteriorated. Some of the posters in this thread quite frankly make me embarrassed to be a Geelong supporter. There are some dead set fcuking morons in here. I don't care anymore about whether Travis comes or not, we have built up our team from draft picks so either way, I don't think we will be losers unless we do get Trav and pay massive overs to secure him. But as long as this thread is open, it's going to continue to be an embarrassment to the Bigfooty Geelong board and our football club. Some people need to pull their heads in big time.

Scott made a good point in defence of approaching Boak mid-season.
If Port were happy to give Boak until the end of the season to make the decision then Geelong would also wait. But given Primus has pushed for Boak to make a decision sooner Geelong should have the chance to give their pitch to Boak.
Whether that is a convenient excuse or truly the view of Geelong, I don't know.
