The only thing to add is the potential that Boak's family and by extension Geelong were given strong enough "assurances" at some point in time that made them feel they had the right to turn up in Adelaide recently and why certain posters in here felt confident he was prepared to make a move.

As we know too well managers will regularly invite interest from other clubs to drum up their client's price although I can't say whether that has genuinely happened in this case.

I think we all agree now until he actually signs up, there is nothing cast in stone just yet.

It 'appears' - although this is just posters info. that Boak wasn't responsible for inviting them across, the assertion being it was set up by a family member, but this suggests they were in the loop somewhat.

I love how many 'geelong' posters abuse me for my lack of correct information yet let the port posters have their discussion on our board. This would have been more reasonable had the port posters stayed on their own board.

As an aside it is amazing the number of geelong posters have very lovely discussions on the port board, almost as if they are supporters of port and then come on here and abuse me.

Facts are, the port bozzos were claiming an announcement was to be made by the latest today and it is nowhere.

Facts are the major dogs at geelong were under the understanding that he was committed to coming to geelong. his family believed the same. He is allowed to change his mind, but his lack of conviction shows how laid back he is. And that may also answer why he is not driven and in elite territory where he should be. Players like judd and judas, made moves for money but were driven and elevated their games to another level. His dealings to date don't show the same polish.

I really do not care where he signs, nor the un named WCE player. There is no point telling people on this board as the abuse is pathetic and is followed up with PMs asking for more info.

Early yesterday myself and a couple of others claimed an announcement prior to the end of next week, but expected it earlier.

Yesterday afternoon there was word that he had signed yesterday afternoon with an announcement at the latest Thursday, but that is yet to be confirmed. (Phoenix has suggest he is yet to physically sign)

PS I reckon the discussions have been pretty good on both boards. The Port board has welcomed quiet a few of the Geelong posters aswell.

I know all the hype is about Boak and in reality it is maybe a 50/50 chance at the moment. Great if we get him but if we don't i think we should be turnng our attention to Josh Caddy. APparently he wants to return to Victoria and we would be a genuine chance to get him, we have the picks and could offer him good dollars compared to what Gold Coast would offer, or at least comparable. The kid is a gun and at the very least it would be nice to get one back on the Suns.

It sure would be. The only problem is there will be no shortage of potential suitors. Clubs like Melb, Dogs, Roos, and Carlton will all have higher picks than us and would have no trouble enticing him. Add to that he is a Melbourne born and raised boy so it will be tough enticing him down the highway to Geelong. It's something we have had trouble with over the years (Brad Ottens being the exception of course)

Can't help but laugh... Club officials trying to make us look like the bad guy... I won't even bother going into all the examples of clubs approaching contracted players, let just say we aren't unique in that respect. Any official even attempting to get on his high horse will only look stupid and hypocritical. The only points scored will be with club supporters of simple mind who try to cling on to some mythical moral high ground that their club doesn't engage in such activities.

No doubt Pivot Daniher is going to be something special but by the Bombers having to use their first rounder on him is going to make it difficult for them to get Caddy as I think from memory the Suns were asking for Hurley in return last year, so for the Bombers to take Daniher might take one possible suitor for Caddy out of the market thus enhancing our chances slightly
