I don't get it tbh.

Why does everyone want to play for Collingwood? besides the big crowds & almost every game at the G, I don't get it.
Probably also offer better off-field incentives through their sponsors and connections than the smaller clubs. This is exactly what I feared would happen when they proposed future trading.

Yep. Simply puts the bigger, better performing clubs back into trade calculations they otherwise wouldn't have had the opportunity to deal.

The one downside to being up there for a prolonged period (and the current system of equalisation through the draft); you get the later picks and thus less trade currency. Now, no matter!

Watch hawthorn stay up there as they future trade their way out of the laws of gravity.

Why would anyone want this guy at their club?
Against the Dogs at Etihad Stadium, a match the Bombers lost by 87 points, Carlisle told at least one Bulldogs forward that he was counting down the matches before leaving at the end of the season.

The third spray occurred in Saturday’s loss to the Crows.

Carlisle’s teammate have been told of a conversation between Carlisle and Crows forwards, where Carlisle went even further and said he didn’t care about the result because he would not be at the club next year.

The conversation made its way to other Crows players who then told Essendon players what was said.

**** this guy...

Fly up

Senior player Brendon Goddard has vowed to help return the club to success.

Many of the players are still coming to terms with the resignation of coach and club champion James Hird yesterday afternoon, but Goddard is adamant that the feelings of the group can be turned around and channeled into on field success.

“As sad as the day is for every one of us and for all Essendon supporters – a lot of people admire James for what he’s done as a player and as a coach – but footy goes on, life goes on,” Goddard said.

Do we expect him to say anything else, though?

Don't care.

He's happy to let himself be trotted out as their bloody mouthpiece ad nauseum.

Sickening.

FWIW;

http://www.theroar.com.au/2015/01/06/fifteen-bold-predictions-for-the-afl-in-2015/

Fifteen bold predictions for the AFL in 2015

1. A team from outside the top four makes the grand final

2. One of last year’s preliminary finalists misses the eight

3. AFL home-and-away attendances will fall below 6.4 million for 2015

4. Mick Malthouse signs a multi-year extension with Carlton

5. The Coleman Medal winner has no link to Hawthorn or Richmond

6. Every team wins six games, every team loses six games*

7. Western Bulldogs claim the wooden spoon

8. Greater Western Sydney finishes ahead of Gold Coast

9. The Rising Star winner has already played an AFL game (Blake Acres?)

10. The 2015-16 free agency period will be underwhelming without a marquee player move

11. No key position player is picked in the top five of the 2015 national draft

12. Harley Bennell plays less than seven games

13. Scoring increases to more than 92 points per team per game

14. Robbie Gray finishes top three at the Brownlow

15. Hawthorn three-peat

*Interesting they say each team will get at least 6 wins, I can see the improvement in us, just based on an injury free run with our older players - here's hoping!

A bit early to review... But some hits some misses, and the bulldogs was a groupthink howler.

Edit: lot more howlers. Lol at malthouse extending contract.

If u wana remember BJ, remember him by the guy who used to punch his chest hard when he was driving the stkilda bus towards finals.
Thats how i remember Beej.
I know its probably zero chance of happening but i'd love it if he came back and finished his career where he belongs. Make no mistake the guy bleeds in red white and black.

no thanks. he left. he can stay at essendon.

"The Bombers would be certain to receive a first-round pick for Carlisle and depending on the quality of that pick, could ask for a future pick as well as part of the deal."

Robbo pls. How the Herald Sun let their chief football writer continue to write as a bomber fanboi is astounding and embarrassing. Not much difference between Robbo's writing and Lance Uppercut/Buck Moreland etc

The entire Essendon fanbase need to be cleansed they are all so warped.

Why doesn't Robbo spill the beans on his best buddy JH.
Anybody notice his wife's absence at his resignation conference!
Fairfax have the pics of JH & another woman, while JH was abroad in France..........................................................

From Facebook lol

"1116 SEN are reporting that James Aish has 'heavily cooled' on Carlton, preferring Collingwood as his destination of choice. Aish's father and uncle Michael and Andrew are believed to be close with Neil Balme, whilst Aish grew up idolizing Collingwood coach, Nathan Buckley.

Paul Seedsman could be part of a deal, along with Collingwood's first-round draft pick being sent to GWS in return for Adam Treloar"

Umpiring standards ? Top side Vs also rans.
Very blatant tonight..
1st quarter 3 times ...Mitchell takes the tackle on drops the ball no free.
Tackles .....genuine tackles on Hawthorn players watched this all year over it.
Top teams get armchair ride.

2nd quarter Hill again tackled drops the ball after doing not one 360 but 2 x 360.
Charity frees for nothing time after time keeps them in game.
