Hell no.

I don’t believe you understand Devs role.

He’s not being asked to play as a clearance mid. He starting as a half forward, and being asked to run hard to impact the contest, and play as a pressure player.

A role Lyons can not possibly play. The problem with Lyons, is that outside centre bounces and stoppages, we’re forced to hide him in the forward line. This hand over transition leaves us one short at the contest if the ball spreads away from our forward 50 as Lyons roles forward and one of Zorko, Rayner or Bailey moves up the ground.
He certainly knows how to "impact" the contest superbly!

I have been to Melbourne before but can not remember the geography around the Parade route, for the Melbourne based Lions what would be the best place to get a good view of the players?

Don’t know if anyone else has replied, we stood near where the car is between the rail line and the G last year. Good view of the players coming off the Barrak footbridge and a bit higher than the cars as they go past. If you are there, i will be the old bloke who knows nothing about football.😀

Gardiner and Lester may be similar heights to Mihocek but Mihocek is built like a tank and I reckon for genuine size Payne is your best matchup.
Andrews on Cox; Starcevich on Elliott.

Can one of Lester/Gardiner goes with Hill for speed who I think is there other dangerous forward?
Edit: actually I think Wilmot is the right matchup for Hill with high end speed.

Curnow is much more jacked than Mihoceck, I’d back Gardiner in

3KZ respectfully, from one old poster to another, have another look at the game, the pressure Dev put on was immense. He was responsible for a significant number of turnovers. I agree we need him better with the footy in hand. Lyons can't apply that type of pressure.

Robertson has been smarter with the ball and saw whenever there was the option to give a handball to a better kick he did it. Pressure was amazing and reminds me of Robbo who’d throw his body around and impact without always having clean disposal.

De goey is a genuine worry with how he can rip the game apart, but I honestly think Dunkley can do a job on him and still win his own ball. I do not think he will get the same freedoms he got against GWS

Dunks is the perfect match up for DeGoey. Jobs like that and the one he had on Cripps last night is why we bought him here in the first place.

The other worry is of course Naicos, but he didn’t look real good on Friday night, so hopefully that continues for another game.

I think to a man we’d have more talent, but one thing you know that Collingwood will bring is 100% focus and effort for the whole game, something with which we are prone not to do. They are also extremely well coached obviously.

If we can play at our best for the 120 minutes, I can’t see any reason why we can’t be in this game, MCG or not.

Best way to limit Naicos' influence is to cut down the amount of ball that gets to him on the outside. You'd much rather him at the clearances having to win his own ball because taking the ball from inside to outside isn't his strength.

If Adams doesn't play, shutting down De Goey takes out two major avenues for Collingwood in clearances; and they're a side that is middle of the road in terms of clearance differential. Never write off a champion, but Pendles has looked tired this finals series.

Gardiner plays stronger than he looks by simple scragging ability.

We will prepare for De Goey and I am confident Dunkley will curb his influence. Can guarantee Pies will plan for Kiddy Coleman as well though. De Goey and Coleman were the stars of the prelim. It will likely be other players who will be the star on grand final day as both clubs look to shut down De Goey/Kiddy.

One thing that I already know is going to do my head in is watching Tom Mitchell throw the ball out from packs all day long. Cannot believe he doesn’t get pinged for it. I know the Dogs and Demons get away with it criminally but Mitchell has to be the worst I’ve seen.

Anyone got any ideas on what pubs in brisbane would be into the grand final
I’ve booked a table at the stones cnr but not 100% sold
Then there is the piney of course
Any ideas
Preferably south side

Weird that the base standing shows approx equal in defence but us ahead in attack but them as forecast winners ... nah ... and normally they include a home ground advantage element ... presumably they think this is an officially neutral venue on GF day?

This is going to be a very physical GF . They'll hit us with everything because there's a bit of a narrative around that we have a soft underbelly and they're still smarting from us knocking them off twice this year. Expecting our M/F to be really physically tested and Daniher and Hipwood in particular in the forward line.

Not expecting them to want to give us much space and they'll back themselves to win a gruelling contest and throw it out to Daicos ,Hill and Elliot whenever they get the opportunity.

If we withstand what's likely to be a similar barrage early to last night the game will open up eventually and we can assert our class.

It's a GF so there's no tomorrow.

What are the odds of Hugh McCluggage pulling out a Simon Black like 20th Anniversary 2003 tribute performance next Saturday.

Not sure where to ask this - but will there be gathering at Brunswick street oval on the Sunday win or lose? I remember going or this when we won in 2002 I think
