Any pick after 20 gets pushed back two spots now after the GC concessions. WCE's 2nd rounders suddenly not as valuable for any TK trade.

And then there is concessions for Ellis, Elliot and Tomlinson along with academy picks. The eagles pick 22 will end up at about 30 and there 31 will be closer to 40.

So now they will offer us 14 (which on draft night will be 16), 30 and 40.

That's the whisper but they have to land Papley too.

Our midfield has enough head over the ball winners for us to groom. Fogarty, Parfitt, Constable, and two years of Joel left (based on his remaining contract). We lose Kelly. Maybe Ablett. Jack Martin can be outside run and nice kicking.

Unless his shoulders are cooked and he can't tackle. But pending that...

Geez I really disagree, Parfitt showed some signs as a defensive side on baller but a good work ethic, Fogarty looks far to small without the real pace to hide it to be playing on ball & Joel needs to only pitch hit in there if we want him to have a real impact, Narkle & Constable are the ones i’d pin the hopes on but both need plenty more education.

If Daniher stays at Essendon, Swans won't let Papley go

We play our kids out of position is my read. Fogarty and Parfitt get put in forward flank roles to develop. They are out and out mids.
I think they need time in that gig. Owning the responsibility. We chuck our younger players about a bit too much to let them settle. I hope I'm right and you aren't on this :D

I don't see Joel as effective enough outside the trenches of the middle. His kicking was suspect at times. If he was hurt maybe that explains it. He doesn't cruise about like a Pendles or Hodge reading the play. Where would you play him when not pinch hitting?

Most of our pace in backline or forward pockets we need to add extra pace into the half forward line Dalhaus, Ablett, Mengola and Parfitt are the issue, we can only afford to carry two of them

Think wings and transitional players are our worry. When rich or WC get going they are beautiful to watch transitioning. Not to mention tall timber to mark like Darling, Lynch and even diver jack. Paddy can be on receiving end.

If we are thinking of more of the same is going to get us there well we are mistaken IMO. Need some bold moves and got find more ball movers. Menegola going home, would that be so bad? Game plan is stodgy coz we don’t have quality transitional players.

I'd move Danger to a half back flank and Selwood forward. Dont want 30 year olds in the midfield.

I think Danger forward is too hungry and his goal kicking isn't good enough, I'd like to see him bursting out of the back line and hitting up the mids.

Give Narkle, Parfitt and Constable the reigns.

Would try trade Menegola, he is a nothing player and his value will only continue to diminish.

Mitch Cleary told AFL Trade Radio that believes Essendon and Gold Coast are both interested in acquiring the ruckman.

“He’s a former Gold Coast player, clearly not in (Geelong’s) number one (ruck) slot right now, Rhys Stanley has gone above him and even Mark Blicavs,” Cleary said.

“Smith has interest from Gold Coast to move back there and Essendon are also showing interest.

According to reports on the AFL website his meeting with Geelong
Do we really need Laird? Don't get me wrong, he is good but we have a young Clark who can play his position, as it's not a position we really lack as such....bid rather use that pick " if we're supposed to be wanting him" in the draft.....
Our Defence isn't our problem, actually it's our best part of our team.

He is good though- would be really handy pick up.

Push Clark up onto Blitz's wing. :p

If you can't pick up any of Taheny, C Stephens or J Sharp with those later picks from WCE then those later picks may not be worth a pinch of shit. As they may be the better mid-range draft pick talents for our list.
Unless we are forced to go earlier for Sokol and Riccardi, mature agers with whatever picks we might have between 28-40 (after bidding).

I agree about Sam doubt we could give him away if we wanted too, happy for Narkle in the mid but only 1 of Parfitt or Constable not both mid would still be slow...
