When GWS did they had to do two deals I think... 2 ..to 11(13) is fair drop

They traded 12 and 18 for 6 and then 6 and a future 1st for 4 to put it in context.

I do agree...regardless of who we target we have some list balance issues with lots of great smalls and few great talls. Given in the last 10 years we have traditionally traded in our talls that might be the go here. Brander might be gettable simply because he would have more chance of regular games in his preferred position here.
If we do get Cameron in, where is Branders peferred position he is supposed to fill? Isn’t he a CHF? That leaves Cameron, Sav, Brander and Krueger all vying for one maybe two positions.

If we had already traded for Carltons 7 .. Weller for 2 was in part desperation to get a player who wanted to play for Gold Coast

Desperation that had an extra $200k pa added to his willingness to play for the Suns??
Money & Sex makes the world go round my old man used to say.
It's always one or the other hehe.
Cheers TC

Does anybody else find it unbelievable that people have absolutely no dramas throwing up picks 11 and 13 for one unknown 18 year old.

I agree. Especially with the amount of times top 10 picks don't work out.

Imagine in 2013 you traded away Patrick Cripps and Dom Sheed for one of Matthew Sharenberg, Kade Kolo or James Aish

Everything is unknown. But more chances to pick a gun player in the top 20 the better I think.

Yet if somebody dare throw up an established A grade AFL player for two 1st Rd picks the board goes into meltdown.

We really are a complex country of gamblers.

Very believable. ... and in one sense one can see why some say picks are over rated... but I dont think pick have value ..its just a chance to get in the que to get a rare talent. A new fresh young talent. In most instances one looks back and thinks that is over paying ... the Weller thing is an example. Gold Coast decided they were willing to trade that dream for someone who wanted them... at the time it was criticised ..three years later , its doesn't look as dumb.

Yet what would someone have been willing to give to get the chance to pick Rowell.

Here's a rumour from my MAILMAN i heard last night.
The Cats are willing to go hard for Norf's Pick 2.
So is the GFC willing to offload Pick 11 and 2021 First Rounder and swapping of pick 15 for 25 along with Chook for North Melb's Pick #2 ???
Gives NM 9, 11 & 15 plus an extra first rounder next year. We get #2 #16? #25 #35
Apparently Logan is the MAN to replace Hawk..
Or is it Thilthorpe... ??
Not sure but one is ranked a future key cog for the next decade.
Cheers boys, will enjoy your views.
massive chance we bundle up some picks this year. There is no doubt in the world that Wells will have a kid he’s eying off that will be taken well down the list that others possibly aren’t even aware of, especially with this years environment.

I want a Wayne Carey for this or no thanks

They paid a premium to get ahead of the Green bid, I doubt they thought that they would miss the 8 this year.

It be wrong for us to do a similar move. Trading our future first rounder next year could be a disaster

I don't think we will get either Cameron or brander but if we do Cameron is CHF and Brander is CHB replacement for Taylor now and DEK is the long term replacement for Hendo. The reality is Sav probably needs to become a ruck long term unless we trade one in as we have not much behind Stanley. Kreuger is Rohan replacement as I see it. Brander would get more games with us than WCE next year but I still doubt they trade him.

I agree but it still illustrates how costly it is to trade into a top5 pick and why I would only do it on the night when you know for sure who is there at that pick.

Yeah in a year like this multiple spins of the roulette wheel and more appropriate to me

Brander is more of a utility right? A Westhoff kind of player?
Not sure, was more asking the question as I thought he was originally drafted as a key forward hence why he was touted as a possible part of the Kelly trade last year. Certainly moves well although not overly aggressive. Only young though.

No idea and don't care but i want a player as good

You defined Carey. We all want a good player. ... and the chance of this happening is certainly not odds on imo ... but the idea appeal to me because its brave and different.. I doubt we have traded to get this early in the draft since trading to get P1 and draft Hooper. ..and there is an example if you wish. Didn't work out

Last two drafts you’d hand over two Picks in the teens for any of the top 3 taken In either year.

There are always exceptions ..but I have screamed about no single figure picks..no recruitment at draft of young KPP players... and watching Max King play my guess is the club have looked on and wished they had gone harder.

pick 1 or 2 should be a great player and Hooper is a crap example because clubs had not worked the draft out at that time
