Oisin Mullin is under 180 cm

One of the beauties of football... if you have enough talent then you can find a way. Matt Rowell P1 2019 draft is 178cm. Having said that .. I'd say that height is opportunity multiplier. At his height he will have to be very good with ball handling etc.

He looks like high work rate, good overhead marking, strong and quick, with good skills. Probably only limitation is height at around 5'10 - so what's that 178cm.... Would make a good back pocket I reckon, would be easy for him to transition there.

He actually reminds me of Clark in his first year.
It has me stuffed how they kick the ball to themselves when they are moving that quick.

It's actually amazing how they manage that.

Dean is the one for me. I expect Aleer to be gone before our second pick. JVR looked good against questionable opposition.

We need another tall defender - Blicavs is no champion and I don't rate Kolo.

If we could get Dean and - with luck - Tom Brown, to add to Stewart and the Shark coming back, Sam DeK and Nic Steven coming on, and the Irish lad proving a gem - if all this comes together we are looking at the possibility of a thoroughly revitalised back half.

Our other picks must be mids, as I think we all agree, although I do like the look of Michito Owen who can play forward and some mid.

The freo mock draft saw us get 21,56 in exchange for 31,35,44 ( as a live trade after pick 20 was selected). Does anybody think we would do that, or maybe we would but freo wouldn't.

I wouldn't and **** Freo.

Some on the Freo board clearly not happy with us, with that trade, haha.

Then again, it is that 'magical' Pick 19 (21), that they've all been acting like it's worth two late firsts or early seconds, lol. In reality, if that was Hawthorn's 21 (23), 30 (32) and 32 (34) would be more than enough - without including 44 on top as well.

So that would leave us 21,24,33 and 56?

Depending on how the players drop I wouldn’t dismiss it.

The magic pick will earn them a bit but just how much? If it works that way maybe we should split the first round into top10 then a second night for the rest. Seems a false value but if someone is willing to pay then its real.

Putting a name to the pick is the key I think. Id imagine if a player like Goater was available or someone else rated highly by some they will get a good return.

Exactly.

That deal would be significantly over in SVI point but it gets down to who is available.

Maybe in draft and if the right player (in their eyes) was available. I wonder if anyone on our board would have traded our Fr1 for Holmes last year?

If it allowed us to walk out with two kids we thought were capable of being best 22 quickly , that probably appeals more than risking more kids in the 30's adding to our recent churn. We have drafted plenty of names but too many come and go and add little.

Not much noise about Oscar Morrison now Geelong addy is saying he is the next Nick Haynes

You mean Full throttle straight ahead? He is quick no doubt. Their game does look like it would suit a quick player like Clark, I doubt he is allowed to play like that in the oval ball game.

It appears to be the sort of draft that there is a fair bit of unpredictability between 15-30. I’ve now seen a number of phantoms and in every case there are players that look more attractive to me than the ones taken even if we retain our current picks but also there are situations with a couple of others where it would have been prudent to trade up to secure a particular player that otherwise wouldn’t have been available. Assuming we have the flexibility to trade up on the night if we wish then we have the best of both worlds.

In all respects but how do you know about him?
Believe it or not it’s possible to be an AFL fan and not be from Australia you know!
Lived in Perth for several years but Gaelic football is (always) my first sport. Oisin grew up near me, I’ve been watching him since he was 15. He’s a class act and I’ve no doubt he will be a star if he doesn’t get homesick.
wouldnt be a million miles from Conor McKenna in terms of style of play - attacking half back with great skills. He’s one of only 2 players since 2000 in the GAA to be named as an All Star (all Australian equivalent) while still u20.
