Saints will keep future 1st in the hope that Ben King is available

So Tim Watson on SEN saying that even with Scarlett gone, it won't change the club's opinion on Clark and that is he needs to work on a harder edge if he wants to make our back 6.

Tim said an announcement is expected from Clark today and that he'll probably want to go to Freo.

So Clark is the next Cerra and Krueger is leaving. Chook is shopping around. So we are left with the oldies that can’t get it done in September!
2022 many oldies will leave and we’ll have nothing! Probably low 8 next year or miss finals then 2023-2028 gonna be bleak.
Oh dear
Should’ve started last year with 3 first rounders and get rid of Scott. Hawks , crows and Roos are 2-3 years ahead of us and counting!

On trade radio Adam Cooney is recommending collingwood trade Jordan de Goey this year. Does anybody thibk we could consider that, or far better wait for him to be a free agent next year ( or not even consider him as a Geelong player)
I doubt he would leave Collingwood, they rarely let players of that type ever leave. He has potential to be in top 5 Mid/Fwds in the comp for the next 5 years or so. I would definitely look into when FA.

This is why the Bogan from Batesford is a DILL. Who gives this guy a job FFS.

He's gone backwards. Factor in how many he's horribly shanked and put out of bounds of the full, and it doesn't look so great. He's not an above average goal kicker at all.

Oh man, I'm so sick of comments like this. It's so easy to just go to the AFL app and see that the above statement is wrong. The scoring accuracy stat includes all shots at goal, even those that don't score. He kicked 11.5 from 18 shots on goal, that means he only had two shots on goal that didn't register a score.

Here's Esava's full 2021 stats for scoring accuracy:

He would be a perfect replacement for Gary Rohan in the forward pocket. Can't imagine Collingwood let him go and we have absolutely nothing to offer as we have sold the farm to bring in older players already.

Did Cooney suffer serious head knocks as a player? Not sure he's got a full deck of cards.

Clearly unsure of where he sits in the whole AFL media landscape. Probably very low down in terms of industry relevance - and knows it. Try's to discuss things with a serious look on his face (all the while people know he's a brick short of a load) and then not long after, just comes out with something completely unhinged to try and grab attention.

Really needs to be banned from discussions this time of year. Just needs to go away and work out if he's in the light (and not very entertaining) entertainment category - or does he want to use his diminishing reputation as a brownlow medal winner, and actually provide insightful commentary or observation on the game. He's probably a nice fella, but the fact that he has a voice in the media is somewhat of an indictment on the industry itself.

Next year as FA offer him big $ then (we will have the room)if they finish bottom 6 they wont match they will take the compo pick.

We also cant afford to destroy young rucks by playing them before they are ready so there is a middle ground and im sure we will find it with the ruck wr trade in this year.

I agree that playing someone before they are ready is counter productive. One would hope that with his running ability that Neale could offer something before his body is at it peak. Ideally a role similar to jackson, not 90% ruck.

The fact that he is averaging less than 2 shots per game when playing predominantly as a key forward is the real concern. Just does not get involved enough. Only 1 game in 10 where he has had more than 2 shots at goal.

Geelong’s last-ditch efforts to keep Jordan Clark will come up short as Fremantle prepares to offer a mid-20s selection for the contracted Cats wingman.

Clark is set for key meetings with the Cats this week, having already spoken about his desire for a move in his exit meeting.

It is understood senior Cats figures including coach Chris Scott and chief executive Steve Hocking have contacted him in the past week to assess whether he would remain at the club.

They cant all be Zach Guthries.

Nah i'm happy with Cameron and picks 30 and 32 this year.
We were doing well this year, unfortunately we lost JC, Duncan, Stewart, Parfitt & MOC at unconvienent times and still staggered into the FINAL 4.
People are carrying on as if we are half dead... FFS.
We are better than 14 other teams. Yeah the cliff is near but it was also near in 2013 and again in 2015 and so it comes around again.
We have Holmes, SDK, Evans, Stevens & Stephens to step in & up next year.
Add to that players X Y Z from picks 30, 32 & 34 and if we get pick 20 for Clark even better for the future..
Onwards and Upwards!!!
Ohhh and if Clark is the next CERRA hand over pick 8 LOL. Cerra he ain't.
Glass is HALF FULL.Cheers!

Absolute garbage, since when does a club need 6 Luke Hodges or Max Rookes in their backline?

Let's look at the two GF teams - how much of a hard edge do Christian Salem, Trent Rivers, Bailey Dale or Jason Johannisen have? Could it be that each of those players has a role to play, which may include utilising pace and/or skills?

Don't stress neither did Tom Hawkins early on.
Patience Grasshopper Patience.

27 won't do it... Freo will be on the phones to Carlton I bet along with a few others (Brisbane being the one)

Reckon those 2 have a harder edge than you might give them credit for. Salem, in particular, is a fantastic player - highly skilled but tough as well.

Just tell them straight up that he won't be traded for anything less than a top 20 pick, let them figure out how they achieve it. The Tim Kelly precedence comes in handy in these situations.
