It sounds like Mackie is keen to keep at least 2 of the 3 first round picks.

Thats posturing and it wont happen.
18 is gone.
Future 1st will go.
7 we can keep.

We cant get the deals done otherwise..just need to close them.

I was trying to get my head around a deal that would work. It really comes down to what you value Bruhn at? That may be the sticking point between the 2 clubs. If push comes to shove I'd say that both first rounders will be used.

I value bruhn at a late 1st.
I think there might be a way we send a 1st and sav and get bruhn and coll fr2 via gws but gws would probably want a couple of later 2023 picks in return so the trading rules make it complicated

Can’t be letting Ratugolea go unless it helps us get the other deals done. Simple as that.

Yep. Needs to be sav and our later picks this year for a future 2nd which unlocks bowes and bruhn.

Given he's played a grand total of 12 games (as a 19 year old) I'd expect nothing less.

193cm frame, good left boot on him. Perfect moneyball acquisition he will cost nothing and has potential.
FWIW his contested ball is pretty crappy... still too skinny not strong enough.

TR was saying Port are going to ask for an exemption so they can trade Fr1 and Fr2
Makes sense. The AFL shouldn't have any issue with it. Both their targets - JHF & Sav - are both young, with JHF basically being a draftee after only one year in the system. Sav is only 24 too.

It's not like they're trading away all these picks on players with only 2-3 years left in their careers.

Sav and 48 or 55 for their FR2 if the AFL approves their request?

I reckon no it will still cost our future 1st. Sav isnt worth more than a late 2nd/early 3rd even under contract
Ideally it looks like
18-henry
Bruhn-fr1 with fr3 back
Future 2nd-bowes
38 or 48 and sav-future 2nd (which is needed for us to trade our fr1 and fr2)

But port they cant trade their FR2 (as their FR1 will go on jhf).
So that probably needs 3 clubs to get it done?

Ie the 3rd club provides the future 2nd needed to make it work and gets back our 48/55/58 that we wont use.
Could package up a couple of our 3rds and a 4th to Brisbane for an F2 from them?

Help them get points for their F/S's

Waste of a spot. Would rather just have kept Nick Stevens, if we were going to get Poulter. Would also look at Dow or Ely Smith before any of those names as well.

Where has the future 2nd for Bowes come from?

That's what GC want, and I imagine that's what we want from Port in exchange for some picks this year and Sav. Something like, Port Future 2nd for Sav and 48 (or even Sav and 38 if push comes to shove)

"But, as reported by the Herald Sun on Sunday, a key part of the Suns’ trade demands will be to accept a future second-rounder back as part of the Bowes deal."

It's what GC want, but if we trade FR1 for Bruhn we'll need to appeal to be able to trade our FR2, unless we get another FR2.

The appeal would probably work as we're bringing in kids rather than 30 year olds, but it's just easier to avoid it all.

Would be fun to see for the Richmond fan melts though
