AFLW 2024 - Round 10 - Chat, game threads, injury lists, team lineups and more.
Has that been confirmed, the report i heard was that he was only in doubt for round 1
What he did IS VERY MUCH DESERVING OF PRISON TIME. You cannot be serious. He threatened to spread revenge p*rn. If he had, a woman's life would have been absolutely ruined, which is the actual joke here.
I honestly can't stand men who refuse to stand up for women. How do you go about your day not helping those who need your protection and support? How do you defend men who choose to harass and abuse? It makes me as a woman not want to have thing to do with footy the way men act like abusive men are the real victims for being held accountable for their choices instead of the women they decide to abuse.
Bit of a rumour that PA will trade their F1 for 2 of Melbourne’s picks. I’d say we’ll end up with 25 under that scenario which would be a reasonable result for both parties. Ratagolea trade I’m referring to.
Well damn thats bad luck, thanks for the update
25 and 33 would not net a Future first. Look what we had to give to move from 37 to 25 last year with Brisbane.
They'd have to give up more than that. Possibly 25, 33 and a Future 2nd might get it done - but even then that's doubtful.
Have to remember it’s Port that have the F1. They need to trade for picks to facilitate trades. They would be giving away the F1 regardless. If the trade was initiated the other direction you’d have a point.
It's not a firesale though - and Melb won't be the only ones vying for that pick.
At best Port finish 4th and they give up Pick 15. At worst they finish 10-12 given the harder draw, and give up Pick 6-8 for 25 and 33. That's a huge level of risk involved.
At the very least, I'd say the Grundy trade of 22 or 30 would have to be involved. Maybe even a Future 2nd as well. If Port did it for 25 and 33 alone, they'd be absolute fools.
There may be more complexity to it with other picks swaps but that was the guts of it.
What if Scott, an unashamed fan of Sav, makes an impassioned plea to him to think twice about leaving?Put it this way, Sav will be so pissed off that we are making it hard again he'd likely go to the draft and go to Hawthorn just to get away.
Who's confirmed that?
Not set in stone by any stretch but it’s an option being discussed. Heard from a mate with D’s connections.
Posted this on the Dees board, and most agree that it wouldn't make much sense if it were just 25 and 33 alone:
"What's stopping Port just dealing with us or Essendon directly though, if that were the case?
Future 1st for Sav and Future 2nd
Geelong Future 2nd and 43 for BZT
Port Future 2nd and 37 for Soldo
Future 3rd for Sweet
No need for a middle man if only those two picks are involved. Would think there'd have to be more to it, IMO."
Under that scenario we are effectively on getting a pick upgrade for Sav. Potentially only a half a dozen picks too. I’d probably prefer to have pick 25 by itself.
Any before anyone draws a parallel with Stengle, I think we’re talking two vastly different circumstances. Can’t see female board members rubber stamping this one.
Like I said earlier, his form did decline (disposal effectiveness, quarter to quarter consistency and defensive running all seemed to be a bit off) but he still pushed his disposal average up towards 20 and what we badly need are new guys to push into that elite disposal winning category.I'm on this boat 100%, felt his form declined this year. Would want a big 2024 before committing too much to keep him. But there could be more to his form than we're aware of and we get what we all want from him next season.
Put it this way, Sav will be so pissed off that we are making it hard again he'd likely go to the draft and go to Hawthorn just to get away.
Is Holmes being unhappy actually based on anything?
Collingwood made the call, like 16 other clubs probably did. Max had a poor year (as young players are prone to), and suddenly we've made the leap to 'He's leaving' pretty quickly.
He's just bought a house in G-Town, best mates with Shannon Neale...I'm going to need to see a little more before we hit the panic button.
Honestly I think it came from the story of him being unhappy about being left out of last years GF, which is actually the opposite of what others heard that he in fact put his hand up that he wasn't 100% sure. So I dont believe he's unhappy. Its more his contract situation for me, in his best interest to hold off and have a great 2024 and this being more likely than him genuinely wanting to look elsewhere. But who knowsIs Holmes being unhappy actually based on anything?

James Jordon has nominated to go to Sydney, which is a real shame not that I thought he would come down the highway but I was hoping he would.
If Swans get Grundy as well, they will be pushing top 4 again next season.
