As we are now getting into the season and we are starting to get a bit more serious with discussion, seems a suitable time to post the following as it's repeatedly shown itself to be a value reference tool in trade & draft discussion

And as per normal, thanks to Lore for putting this together - always a fantastic reference tool

And yes this post is now stickied - makes it easy to keep track of (can easily reverse this though if needed)

Any chance dylan stevens from lions? He has been in and out of team

He dominated us in VFL game I watched and now just watching him in afl game he looks good.

If everybody is coming hard for Gold Coasts pick 5 , what about us putting our pick up for sale which will probably be 7 if we go 1-1 over our last 2 games.
We could live trade it to gold coast for their 2024 1st, a couple of picks in the late 20's.
I am sure their are other, potentially better options as well.

Neale I think has real prospects and I can see him building through 2024…

Foster is a beautiful kick and is tall with decent hands….but his work rate is really poor as is his body language. Maybe fixable given age but if he doesn’t address that next year I would not be surprised if he has an early exit
You fan of Bailey Van De Heuvel?

Well Sweet is playing today so it will be interesting to see how he goes at the top level again. If he does go alright we should've definitely target him.
Thought Neale did ok last night, I'd prefer if we didn't use a pick on a ruck this year.
We need a ruck next season, so if we don't use a pick in the draft we will have to bring in some kind of ruck as can't rely on Stanley and Conway

Parish, Doedee and another first round pick or two and we're right there.

I don't know whether it's next year, the year after, or when the kids hit their prime..but it'll happen. #11 is on the way.

Not only do I have full faith in our club to get it right, but I've just never seen such a weak competition.

A club carrying Oleg Markov and Billy Frampton with Dan McStay as its key post simply cannot be the benchmark, and wouldn't have gotten close in another era.
McStay has to be the biggest dud currently playing AFL

They bat so bloody deep through the 22 that it’s ridiculous, though.

Very much so. If he was 23 I would be screaming for us to rookie him. I think (but not sure) that he is 25 so turning 26 next year - Is that a bit old to come into the system?

Bailey turned 25 a few weeks ago. He seems a good backup who wouldn’t expect to play regularly but could do a job after a pre season and an understanding of our system.

From what I’ve heard the club is positioning itself for something along these lines.

- Retain Esava

- Bring in Doedee

- SDK will end up spending more time as a key forward

- Hawkins plays in 2024 but will be held back to get through the year in good shape

- And forget the talk on Parish. I think you’ll find that Worpel is the inside mid target

- Crouch (Adelaide) the other they’ll look closely at

Bailey VDH from vfl. I was responding to question Whether I like him

I think the CEs response is in regards to your comment about Bailey's age - Podsiadly was drafted by us as a 28yr old, so maybe 25yr old Bailey isn't too old

You mean stephens from the swans? Yes i would look at him (would look at robertson from the lions too if he moves which he wont).

Id also look at both carmichael and macrae from collingwood as mids. Both have been great in the vfl this year and would be potentially be good mids for us at a cheap price.

God that's just about the worst thing ive read since the last time Trump tweeted something. If anything else besides "bring in Doedee" happens we are in for a bad time.

Doedee i think we know (my source says he was a lock to us pre injury probably still will happen but isnt 100 % now).

Matt Crouch i can believe because we chased brad when he went to st kilda, matt is showing good form and he fills a need for us as a UFA.

On Parish i think you will find we are 110 % keen on him if hes willing to come but i dont think he is-i think his manager is just bleeding ess dry of their huge cap space and i think he will stay.

I know we went very hard for worpel 2 years ago it wont surprise me if we do so again but honestly i dont see why hed come honestly the hawks have so much capspace he will be giving up like 300k a year to come here. I also think if he wins their B & F they will drive a harder price than i would be willing to pay (ie our r1 which is too much). If he can be got for a r2 or a couple of r3s and a fringe player (as mitchell was) then sure but its unlikely to me.

Sav is goneski-other clubs will offer him way more gametime and $ than we should match. While we have the cap space hes not best 22 for us and so we shouldnt use that on a depth player

Sdk is an elite key back for mine-id rather develop both neale and o henry as fwds.

Don't hate it (If true), but why exactly? Age profile thing or Parish staying?

Worpel will actually cost something, where as Parish us just $$$.

Hawks will want our first. Worpel's better than he's given credit for. When he's actually played in the guts he's a gun.

Worpel is a 1 position player but what he does is very good and he would be a good fit here. But i wouldnt pay a r1 for him.

I agree on parish being a better fit if hes FA bur im unconvinced a) that he wants to come (i simply think hes trying to get 1mil PA out of ess) and b) that ess wouldnt match an FA offer anyway.
