Grundy at Collingwood, even Treloar was moved on due to salary cap reasons

Yeah now that we have Smith, does TDK become an even more valuable commodity than say Zac Butters ? Before he got injured this season he was breaking games apart single handedly.

Butters is the better player he's truly elite.

But you have to consider needs and how bad our ruck issues have been. And also that tdk fits the athletic profile of the type of ruck we tend to chase. And he's also capable of playing forward so he's someone that can partner well with another ruck etc. So in that sense i think we need him more and he's worth 1.2-1.3 easily for us if it means we don't have to trade for him.

Managers are pushing this now but I don't like the risk either.
That said if we trade in a high profile player this year I bet they will be contracted to 2032/33 too.

Most "high profile" players aren't worth it. There is no value is chasing the herd. If everyone is doing x, we should be doing y

Sam De Koning - Only one i'm iffy on. We'd want him but he has to want to stay
Neale - Our Tomahawk replacement, will be a Cat for long term
Dempsey - Young star, will be a Cat long term
O.Henry - local boy won't go anywhere
Close - ee no reason why he wouldn't want to stay and be a Cat for life.

1 year is interesting. Might be mannagh backing himself to be in the 22 all year and increase his value a lot. At his age any contract he gets past 26 is his last big contract and he has a young family so he needs to make hay while the sun shines.

Still Dempsey, close, sdek and neale and a bunch of others to sort out this year contract wise.

I think we will keep them all but I can see close and sam/neale getting big offers the latter because there's a lack of quality talls. We have the cap room it will be interesting how much we are willing to use to keep them.
