Who the **** was voting? Did they vote at half time?? How does a guy kick 5 goals and only get 1 vote?

Also I reckon Pedlar will get a week for that tackle.... Could Taylor get a debut anyone?

Saw Rankine do it. Was pretty funny.
I don’t mind the ‘celebration culture’ that seems to be a thing at the club right now. As long as we aren’t doing it down 40 in the 4th

Revs teammates and (when at home) the crowd up. Also adds a bit of player individuality

I'm sure I'm clutching at straws but I would love so much for Chayce Jones to become a player. He is so passionate and I love his aggression. I'm not sure he has it but I'm still hoping there's a player somewhere there waiting to break out.
I think now being able to sit behind Rachele, Rankine, Dawson, TT, Fog, Soligo - he‘ll be a lot better off. He doesn’t have to the saviour. He just needs to become a solid b grade player.

Some real flip flops in this board this year. Got carried away in the pre season, got carried away after 2 losses and now we're back!

Good:

Getting a win and getting it against Port. Still hard to tell where we're at though.

Bad:

That htb call against Sholl. What the ****ing ****? I hope the club asks for a public explanation on that one.

We're not back, but this was about as good in terms of seeing signs in the players you need to see them in as we've had.

Having said that, I think the real week one overreaction might have been about what could be gleaned from Port / Brisbane. The Lions not what we thought they were, and Port looking set for another mediocre season.

Sadly Kenny will be sacked.

Milera played his best defensive game tonight.
Yeah, good post. I've been similarly too harsh, especially last week.
I've been hanging shit on RoB for some time, but I thought his 2nd half was epic. Exactly what we needed. MORE, please.
Sloane, too, but maybe he's just getting used to the pace again after his year off.

The only thing I disagree with is the above.
I thought Milera was awful until the last quarter, when the whole team lifted and Port imploded (note how their goalkicking was crap in that last quarter as well).
Smith too was invisible for the first 3 quarters.

But, I'm being churlish. Not everybody can play out of their skin, even in a good win like tonight.

The Lions are a weird case, though. They beat the Dees, but then went on to lose to the Dogs, who themselves lost to the Dees by 50. I feel like they’re very much a home-ground, flaky side (which tbh is what they’ve always been through the past four seasons)

Port also faced the Pies last week, who look like the team to beat so far

In a nutshell - it’s too early to judge, form is volatile. I’m definitely not developing extreme confidence based off of this win, though

Take a look at this absolute dogshit decision.

Does not play on, is just about to kick. SPP does not leave the protected area and just tackles.

But here's the worst bit. Watch the ump at the bottom of the screen. He calls play on AFTER HE IS TACKLED, and then immediately calls htb.

Gutless AFL trying to hide their incompetence by asking for that video to be removed

We might be a shot next week, but it'll still be lean pickings to half way through the season again.

Which in the long term is ultimately necessary. Competing for finals this year would be long term disastrous. We need that early pick midfielder. The club needs to understand that.

Can someone tell Fox Sports how to shoot a game of football, * me they are terrible. Close ups of umpires and other pointless s**t. So glad I was at the ground.
Their camera operators are no good. How about sending the commentators here. What's the cost of a virgin flight. 300bucks. At least all games in 4k.

Or trade for Will Day, but by all reports that’s a long shot

If we can get a Phillipou/Cam Mackenzie equivalent in this year’s draft I think I’ll be satisfied. Remains to be seen what the club will actually do, though

Maybe Newchurch if they are looking to replace Pedlar as a small forward/half forward..

kicked another bag of 4 in the SANFL today and also did a couple of really nice things in the middle of the ground that led to goals..

Taylor was actually pretty quiet in today’s SANFL game..

but I doubt Pedlar gets a week for that.. there wasn’t much in it.. the port players head didn’t even touch the ground on replay.. if Pedlar gets a week there are one or two power players that will get a week for their sling tackles too.. and maybe even Sloane..

and just on that sling tackle.. it’s ****ed to see the tackled players are now actually twisting their bodies when they feel the tackle starting to go that way to try and turn the tackle into a sling and earn a free..
