It's worse than I thought.
After the Jones goal, we were 22 points UP in the last, and still found a way to lose :grimacing::fearscream:.

I admit to being trolled by the team at that point....commentators even said most Pies comebacks are triggered by them kicking the first goal.

We needed ONE polished forward entry after that to win.

He isn’t likely going to come out and say publicly that Soligo didn’t have the legs to finish the game out or that Schoenberg was ineffective when he came on. Privately, however, he’d no doubt be having words.

He could have come out and say
"Now I'm in my fourth season as senior coach you might think I would stop making such rookie errors, Harry really wanted to come on so I had to sub out one of the youngsters. Soligo only had 3 clearances, 7 score involvements and 24 disposals in 3/4 quarters. He was the obvious choice to sub out"

AFL site saying NIL injuries.

I hate to say it but have we as a team got ahead of ourselves and we drinking our own bath water?

I have concerns about some negative interactions between players when kicks don’t go right etc. it currently seems a bit off.

as I posted in another thread I have a mild concern on Rachelle’s attitude lately it has become ‘look at me’ and he’s taking too much on which is currently beyond him appears selfish.

That margin is nothing against Collingwood. Unless you are 6 goals+ up, they will believe they can win until the final siren sounds. Have done it too many times to keep count since McCrae took over.

Good:

Defence was immense

Bad:

Some low IQ moments, particularly at the finish.

Also I think Nicks got outcoached. Dropping the spare back sounds good in theory but they just got us on the outside and from the perimeter so Dawson had no opportunity to impact.

Match their extra around the contest next time!

Ugly:

Goalkicking obviously

BUT:

We will have GWS and Collingwood days AND we will have Carlton days. It's up to us how many of each we have.

Long story short:

We have been in every game this season. We weren't winning the flag but are gaining valuable experience still.

The future IS bright.

Dawson didn’t impact? He had 11 touches. I think it was the weight of numbers rather than Dawson not impacting playing behind the ball

Definitely annoyed at our forwards and mids not taking easy option going forward and often trying to do too much

Few times guys were free deep and we didn’t hit them
At least 5 or 6 opportunities were blown. Heck, there was one super early where Pedlar just over kicked it and missed Fog in a mile of space and it went through for a behind.

Smashed in the clearances in that last qtr.
Playing at team on our home ground....off a 5 day break.
Shows how far we are from the top teams.
A slaughter coming next week in Geelong.
Yeah a one point loss after kicking ourselves, out of the game
clearly we are a long way off haha joke

He did say Soligo had 90% game time up until then...Burgess was sitting on the bench with a headset on so maybe he had input too.

And a bunch of “supporters” that makes “Meet The Feebles” seem like alpha males. We have a truly sad core bunch of pathetic negative wingers whose default misery is utterly depressing

Good effort pops, really showed them.

Losing this game was actually a glorious victory.

We'll just ignore Collingwood having a short week, no ruckman and being reamed by the umpires.
