ROB can f*** off.
Even when he was rucking uncontested, he still couldn't hit it to advantage.
To see him at the end shaking his head made me want to rip into him.
I agree but maybe not as angrily as you :sneaky:, although I am still dark about last night..
40/70 voted above that RoB played well. I was not one of them.
Yes, he took some good marks around the ground and his general play was OK, but no more than is to be expected. I can't get excited about a bloke doing his secondary job.

He's a RUCKman.

His primary function is to generate clearances by tapping the ball directly to our mids, or to their advantage.
In general, he does not do that and he didn't last night, again.

My son was 10 when we went to the 2017 grand final. He bawled from halfway through the third quarter til well after the final siren. Then the following year in the Showdown when we got the lead back only to have Motlop kick the winner for them with seconds to he threw himself on the floor sobbing. That was the day his youthful joy of football died....
Now he's 16 and as jaded as the rest of us on big footy. Came home from game pragmatically and said "It's ok mum, we're not winning the premiership. We need to finish lower and draft another top mid before we can win a flag"...
I still havent gotten over the 93prelim and Andrew Jarman's brain fade at half time.

Seriously, we're pulling up people's posts from four years ago?

That seems incredibly childish.
As is bringing up a flippant comment from someone multiple times a day and saying “basic football knowledge” in every second post.
Sorry but ABAB deserves everything he cops.

Tired of people talking up Collingwood like a dynasty team. Ye gods they havent made a GF yet. 8 of their best 22 were out yesterday.

We can only take solace that we lost to them by 70 points less than Port.

There’s that and there’s also taking the option on offer which we failed to do on many occasions

Often our forwards tried to do too much

Then yes the goal kicking is inexcusable
In contrast our SANFL team were highly unselfish yesterday. Ned in particular but even Newchurch handed one off instead of having a ping from 50.

Some of the comments rubbishing our players in a 1 point loss is laughable.
The game was lost with poor goal kicking, the ball movement in the first qtr and a bit was elite and needed to be capitalized upon.
We lost all momentum got run over . Some moves were questionable but i still think we were shot by then
Who tipped us to win i know i didnt.
I had us locked for bottom 4 a few weeks ago,
Probably learn more from the loss than the win, no need for knee jerk reactions

well the entitlement ! you aint the only one who has followed the club closely and been to the above events pumping out big $ for memberships and corporate hospitality? Out of interest - and not related to this current point - have you been to :

  • first trial game vs Dons 1991
  • first game for premiership points vs Horks 1991
  • all 3 MLB finals in 1993 . God the prelim was real heart break with our (again) bad goal kicking and also absolutely biased umpiring
  • the other big MLB finals (2002 prelim, 2001 elim vs Carlton, 2007 buddy elim, whatever year (early 2000's) 'hone' final vs Dees at the MCG ?

Just interested in how many other passionate supporters - which you certainly are - games they have been to over the years

well, by George, I am going to disagree with you here old mate re being a fickle supporter. You and a couple of the other fans 'takeover' this board with negativity with these sort of losses but are all beer and skittles if the difference was 2 points the other way (eg the Rachele overturned goal for touched which I am not convinced tv replays could overturn that decision). but you keep being you and i hope you are truly happy with life and hopefully your club makes you happy one day :)
Pull your head in peanut, not the first time you’re going down “happy with life” path with posters.

Tell me, what exactly have I said about this loss that wasn’t justified?

To be fair they didnt look like goalling until Frampton free. All of a sudden up and about.

Instead of putting foot on throat we put our throat under their foot.
I know I am repeating myself but after Jones put us 22 points up, the Tora! Tora! Tora! message should have gone out to all players.
Attack! Attack! Attack!
Nicks tried to defend the lead instead of increasing it.
The Frampton free woke Collingwood up. I think they sensed the change in Crows play and took full advantage.

prepared to put some hard earned on this? I will offer odds 1.2 to 1 that we win more games than each of the last 2 seasons, hence showing improvement (esp as last year half the wins were against complete rabble being Weagles and Kangas)
Don't really care what odds you're offering.

Looking at the remaining fixture, I can see us finishing on 9 wins, which is an improvement if only marginal.

The games against St Kilda, Bulldogs (away), GC (away) and Essendon (away) will tell us if we've improved.

I know we got rub of the green from umps in last qtr but still I think the contested mark not paid to Tex about 70m out was crucial.

Guess in a 1pt game anything is. J Daicos could have kicked a point 1min before final siren but missed the lot.

Nick Daicos was inconsequential compared to normal form but he’s so good that he just lifted his pressure acts and defensive acts to compensate

The problem was his brother tore us apart in second half

Both absolute guns
Daicos only two score involvements and 20%+ decrease in efficiency shows how we drastically lessened his impact.

Can’t believe people last 2 weeks talking up Billy

Pretty low bar

ROB flogged him around the ground

People saying ‘ he’s not a ruck he’s doing a good job neutralising ‘

Yeah , he’s not a ruck , not a key defender and not an afl player full stop

He can kick the ball though , I’ll give him that . But doesn’t get many kicks when he’s got an opponent
Not sure he’d care about anyone’s opinion of him around here if he wins a flag this year!..

he’s not the greatest player to play the game.. buts he’s miles better than Himmelberg… the depth we kept.

Just because it's a tactical sub doesn't mean you have to use it.

Sometimes the best tactics of all are not doing anything.
Seems Macrae did just that and said to his boys "just stick at it, they'll shit the bed!" and voila another miracle performed.
