To lead for all but 20 secs.

Our kicking for goals cost us but our midfield should equally take the blame. We were smashed in clearances and especially in that last qtr.

To be 4 goals up early in the last and lose is inexcusable. I don’t care we pushed a top team, if we miss the finals by one game that will have lit
tle consolation and if anyone is happy we got so close they accept mediocrity.
Personally I was more annoyed with the GWS loss.

Really we could/should be 6 and 1 and sitting on top of the table.

The fact that we're pissed off about a 1 point loss against Collingwood is a good sign that we've improved and our expectations have grown.

Farking LOL

I’ve just had a quick read through this thread.

Did we just get smashed by a bottom side or something?
Too many people posting straight after the game when emotions were running high

Hopefully the players see the positives and the realisation that we can compete with the best

Thanks man, yep that was a super lofty goal but Ben did a very good job IMO, also dropped his uncontested touches down by 9 on season averages. I think Daicos's stats were padded quite substantially by kick in's as well (especially considering we kicked so many damn behinds). I didn't count, but saw him take a minimum of 5, possible closer to 10.

If other clubs aren't going over this tape furiously as a blue print on how to curb him, then they as missing a trick IMO.
People won't like this but Keays could be the best defensive Half forward in the game. Is excellent in this role. From what the commentators were saying he could've had a few goals too, ran off Daicos in the forward line and was free when we were kicking all those points. I would be telling him to stay close to Stewart for the game on the weekend, only 4cm shorter & similar build so should be able to at least put some pressure on him. Although Stewart is likely to man up on one of our talls he peels off

It's true. But the facts are we arent, and as a club we need to get better or the last 25 years of perpetual under performance will continue.

I agree, its the role that potentially gives him another 100 games of AFL IMO.

And we blew it not giving him the footy in the goalsquare yesterday. I think Brad Johnson called him as all alone waiting for someone to hit him on 4 occasions. That might not have been every time either. If he gets 3 goals yesterday we win easily and he probably gets Brownlow votes.

We've built a list to contend for the premiership every 6 years, what more do you want? Sure, it would have been excellent if we jagged at least one of them but winning the premiership is very hard and require some luck which we didn't have in those contending years. This was the biggest rebuild we did in our history and was looking very effy last year even for the optimistic.

A few things, you should've walloped us today, no ifs buts or maybes. Had the game on your terms for most of the game apart from the last qtr.

We were terrible, and have been for the most part since the the loss @ the Gabba, that's not discrediting your team just an observation.
I agree re: the Umpiring which was generally poor. Both sides suffered.

However, this post is the kind of 'like'-attracting rubbish from opposition supporters that annoys the hell out of me.
It says:
"you should have walloped us today [because] we were terrible". Wtf?
That's as backhanded praise as I have ever seen. The Crows were beaten by a team that played terribly?
How is that not discrediting our team?

You dribbled on that the Pies:
"have been [terrible] for the most part since the the loss @ the Gabba", after which they won their last 3 games against teams in very good form. C'mon.
2) There seems to be a habit of teams capitulating when it matters most against Collingwood, why I don't know.
2) Gee, you don't know why Collingwood come back when they're down and win those close games? :rolleyesv1::rolleyesv1:
That is utterly, crappily disingenuous.

I said this to another Collingwood supporter in this thread: take your post to the Collingwood Autopsy thread, then duck and run for cover from your Excommunication (think: torches and pitchforks) which be coming directly.

Ok, I know i've been slow on this. But I agree with the masses, its time to drop Wayne.

I've been willing to give him the time to get up to speed after the injury bug based on the talent he's flashed in the past, but 30 games is more than enough time. He's just not doing anything worth his spot anymore. Nothing offensive, nothing defensive, nothing with his sublime skills, nothing with his speed or mobility. He's just a middle of the road player, and not an overly exciting one.

I genuinely believe he's not playing with passion anymore. You see Hinge, Michalanney, Murray and Smith lining up next to him and they would literally do anything to help the team. I'm not seeing that from Wayne, and haven't for a long time.

we are getting better. cant you see that?
I can. I have also watched us piss away good seasons too many times to count.
When we are good we need to be better than good.
We have failed for 25 years. I'm not saying we aren't improving, just that we can't take for granted natural progression will win us a flag. It won't. The club needs to find it's backbone and become a Geelong, Hawthorn, Sydney etc if we are to succeed.

Sure, from google "fickle suggests unreliability because of perverse changeability and incapacity for steadfastness. performers discover how fickle fans can be. capricious suggests motivation by sudden whim or fancy and stresses unpredictability.'

To me, fickle supporter is the objective lack of balance, the extremes of being on here elated if we had won by a point or more (which clearly should have happened) to bagging the club, players and coach for a heart breaking loss. Everyone is disappointed with the result. Devastated esp as we deserved to win and shot ourselves with kicking 3-10 to start the game with at least a handful or regulation goals in that mix. But also remember we are the youngest and least experienced team (or close to on both fronts) and played the premiership favourites in a game we outperformed them but didn't get the points.

But to have an individuals complete persona, views and posting impacted by the barest of margin I would call those people fickle supporters

Would you call yourself a fickle supporter George based on my definition?
No 119, I wouldn’t. I consider myself as an inaugural member of this club who has been to 3 grand finals, numerous interstate trips and spent thousands on this club as anything but a fickle supporter.

And I take offence at some pip squeak who is sensitive to having a game reviewed which saw us blow a four goal lead at home and elements criticised, suggesting “fickle” supporters don’t deserve to go to a GF.

surely we arent digging up posts from 4-5 years ago and bagging people for what seemed reasonable views at the time? not sure if thats happening. if it is, its very sad
The initial discussion was ABAB asking who has said Laird was an A grader so I posted his post where he said he was.
He’s now trying to say he didn’t really mean that because you can’t grade someone when they are young, this is despite Laird being in his 7th afl season and age 25 when he made the call.
The milera bit was just a joke about ABAB saying he didn’t actually mean what he actually posted.

Both are bad for varying reasons. Against GWS we kicked like mules, the heat got us and we were hampered by poor coaching.

Against Collingwood we showed we can take it to the best teams which is a positive, but we still lost. 4 goals up in the last and we lost at home. We could well miss finals because of it.

Collingwood put in their worst performance for the year. Brisbane smashed Collingwood and we should have done the same. They were there for the taking last night coming off a 5 day break, not playing well and on our home ground. Definitely our worst loss for the year. What makes it worse is that we beat ourself.

I don't have a problem with it but Froggy has done this twice to me and didn't properly comprehend what he was reading......he is a failed Southerntakeover wannabe.

Lol at the fake ignore button television fan still running off at the mouth.

You've spent weeks spamming old post call backs, the second it happens back you squeal.

Use some of that money you save on memberships and buy a spine.
