At time of writing (I am several pages behind) 10 people above thought Rachele had a better game than Rankine.
I don't know their stats, but I thought Rankine had more positive effect on the outcome (not just that goal deep in the last).
Rankine half his touches ended in goals, Rachele got lots of ball early but just pumped it deep and often not to our advantage. Was great to see him getting so much ball but needs to work on his vision, bit goal centric at this point.

I liked thd subtle nod to the diggers tbh.
Yeah that’s fine, I wasn’t talking about the Anzac jumper.
I love Melbournes Anzac one each year, it’s supreme.

As a team we looked drained and lethargic across the board. Considering the long break this seemed weird.

Everyone was fumbly, missed kicks and hand balls, even Dawson who's usually very clean was fumbly and missing targets.

I think it was the combination of coming down from the high of the previous week, the strange 10 day break, the terrible record in Tasmania and underestimating the Hawks.

Strangely, I think this win will do wonders for the side and in some ways will be more important than the week before. It's a reminder that things will not just magically happen for them and they need to continue to work and do the hard things. It also builds belief that no matter what the situation the team can still find a way to win as long as they never give up. This brings them down to earth and keeps them working without having to lose.

The two goals at the end by our two young stars were the highlight. They didn't have perfect days, but when the moment arrived for them they both embraced the pressure and executed when it mattered most. You could almost see this was going to happen for the both of them as they slowly became more influential throughout the afternoon.

How is Fog's knee? Seemed to be hobbling at one stage

Won the game for us soon after due to his God-like qualities but didn't seem to be that free with his movement today compared to other weeks

Noticed that too. Bit of a worry.

He’s ready to throw the mattress off at half time of the grand final this year.

Landed badly and jarred it in last two mins.

Fog plays better when hes a little dinged up. The arm strapping was when he took off last year.

Not much can do at that point. When all your training comes to fruition.

They kept their nerve.
But the immediate reaction was to get a message out to them, and Nicks - knowing they’ve been training for scenarios just like this - wanted to see how they’d play out. Now, I’m not sure throwing Laird on to Sicily was quite the right option (given the height difference) but Dawson had to make the decisions in real time with no guidance from the coaching box.

All I know is they won. They prob just put their experienced guys in the mid and said go for it.

Tbh .. play that last 5 minutes 10 times we lose 8. Great execution.

Was at a birthday party and only saw the last 3 minutes when I made an excuse to get something from the car. Seems like maybe I saw the only good bits?

From that though, these games are piss easy to drop. In fact we probably SHOULD have dropped it. But this team wants to win and wants to find ways to win. Even in 2020 we could already see the never say die attitude creeping in. This team believes in themselves, and they believe in each other.

To find a way to win that against Hawthorn, and in Tassie, you just love to see it.

Additionally, during the week I saw a compilation video of shocking umpiring decisions. There were at least 4 games either in there or that I remember against Hawthorn that were directly influenced by umpires and went their way (Mackay in the back of Puopolo, Thommo's hands in the back, 2012 PF, Himmelberg's non goal in Tassie). For years it felt like we literally weren't allowed to win against them. **** it's good to finally jag a close one against them in whatever way we can.
