Exactly !

It’s not Pedlar or Rachele that should be getting the mid minutes of the seniors ( as they aren’t physically ready)

It’s people like Schoenberg …

He deserves the rest of season in AFL midfield and just wear any negatives as I’m sure it will pay off or at least not be an overall negative compared to what we’re doing now
Did Nicks say anything last week about why they didn’t keep Schoenberg in after his sub role?

Atkins is a much better player than Sholl.

Rory actually has a decent kick, a side-step to get around would-be tackles.

Lachlan has a weak kick that regularly misses targets and fades light, while he crumbles at the prospect of an oncoming tackler.
Sholl was actually credited with 2 tackles last night which brings his 6 week total up to something like 5.

  • ROB thinking he is a forward, running into the forward line and clogging it up. All he achieves is making certain we have no chance of marking the ball. None. He's not going to mark it and even if he did, he's a 0.5% chance of kicking the goal. He did this repeatedly last night.
  • If Tex is going to take the ruck in the F50, why the actual F does ROB stand 5 m away? What is he going to do there? Get him a kick behind the ball where he might actually have some use!
Really good post overall :thumbsu:.
I noticed this last night, too. I reckon it was third quarter about 30m from our goal. RoB had wandered down looking like he wanted to take the ball-up, but Tex was there.
Instead of jogging back a kick behind the play, he backed off about 10m from the contest .
W-t-actual-f??.
It was exactly as you said --- he clogged space and enhanced the possibility of a defensive rebound.
  • Milera's defensive work is an utter liability, yet he is untouchable.
  • Smith is going backwards at a rate of knots, yet he is untouchable.
Milera's inconsistent for sure, but has made a fist of his poz, imo.
Might seem odd to you, but I thought Smith was ok last night, too. Meh.
  • Jones hits form, is really starting to play great football on the wing, so we move him to defence at the first chance possible.
Yeah, I like the Jones we've seen this year.
  • We recruit Dawson as a half back and are happy to let other teams drag him to full back repeatedly.
Wasn't he recruited as a winger where he played his best at Sydney?
  • Dawson has to TELL the coaches to move him to the midfield. How dumb are the coaches?
Very.

Don’t listen to his press conferences - too boring

Rahilly is main coach we have I like listening to

Gotta say our midfield is lacking but our forward line was also pathetic given the talent up there …. Coughed up alot of chances .. would love to hear Rahilly’s thoughts

We clearly have liabilities ... Same Murphy and scholl again. Scholl especially, he folds under any pressure. Murphy works hard but just isn't afl standard. These 2 really stood out last night. The play when Murphy almost took out Rankine and spoiling a mark basically tells the story. He constantly tries to play above his ability.

And then the worst thing about the loss was the coaching. We have no run and carry. It was constant long bombs under pressure. Passes were constantly missed. Strategy was basically the same all late in the game. Kick it long down the line to a contest. Every time they got a goal, it was usually a quick pass to the outside to a runner who moved the ball quick. That's been happening all year especially when they lose the hard ball and it's never addressed. The crows constantly get beaten on the outside when they lose the hard ball leading to quick entry for the opposition.

The drop off from Schoenberg and Berry is a major contribution to this but Schoenberg hasn't been given a full game and been used as the sub and despite performing well against Essendon as the sub he was dropped instead of given a full game. Why? Because Nicks would have had to drop Sloane or move him else where.....

Or he might just other issues eg Stenglitis

I tell you who still gets let off on this board for a more senior player these days

- Darcy Fogarty

Rankine was also v poor but more credits this year

I feel as though our forwards coughed up way too much opportunity when our midfield was on top at times in first 3 quarters . Should have been up by 6 goal +

Then mid obliterated in last quarter which seems a pretty regular occurrence unfort and an Achilles heel

Honest to God wondering how you are saying the umpiring was bad your way, as if we were watching a different game.
Who the **** cares? You wade through an opposition team's post-game thread where names like "Sholl" and "Murphy" are mentioned and yet manage to zone in on someone having a one-word whinge about umpiring?

Bringing that piece of shit Pannell out of his bulldogs retirement home to peg us sans-lube wouldn't make a difference to our chances, because we're already chalking games down as an L with Mensa-esque team selections and game-day strategies that require a mind so open that our brains have well since fallen out.

Yep he has regresed. Not as bad as he was in year 1-4 but not at the level of last year

Shoenberg is a poorly skilled midfielder who constantly panics. He's our Paddy Dow.
He’s our best performed young mid on our list outside of ones getting games

Until we get better players on our list he’s our man for Sloane or Keays

Panic stuff is confidence related , at least he takes the game forward at speed rather than sideways

So you don’t think we should be investing afl games in a 21 year old that has shown he has a future at afl level?

Is that you Matthew?
'
Before the season he was using him as the example about why our midfield future was fine.

It doesn't matter what happens, the only thing he can guarantee is that the club has gotten it exactly right again.

Special mention to super sub Ned McHenry for absolutely stinking it up but running around a lot.

That sub was another Nicks shocker.

McHenry has been very good as the sub this year so I wouldn't call it a "shocker"?
“Very good” is a massive massive stretch. And he was poor last night. Always out of position. For someone whose strength is his pressure and being a fresh set of legs, zero tackles in the last while we got run over. Zero. I watched him and he was constantly running away from the contest trying to get the 2nd or 3rd handball receive.

Leftfield but....would we be better off putting darcy up for trade with welsh coming through?..you'd think a player like fogarty could be a great bargaining chip to get into a quality mid at another club?

I am coming at this by not wanting to lose any of our good young players but i really really really want to get a few A grade mids in because without them its extremely unlikely this rebuild will yield our next flag

Don’t mind the left field thinking but going to say no

Need to hold on to all our talent then add further talent by any means

If you have a great life, then why watch a team that you think lets you down consistently? I have a great life too and it sucks when the Crows lose, but I enjoy footy and will keep watching regardless each week. I certainly don’t think the Crows let me down, I have zero control over how they operate, it’s purely entertainment.
That’s pure deluded malarkey.

You care, that’s why it upsets you so much when posters are negative about them.

It’s more than entertainment and if following a sporting club is just that for you, then you shouldn’t be policing posters that care more about the clubs fortunes than you.
