It is impossible that both players didn't have concussion, with a head knock ......If PORT report early in the week, delayed concussion for either player, the AFL has to investigate

It smells to high heaven !
Reckon aliir will have delayed concussion…delayed to the precise moment they 1st test him.
so maybe he won’t, as they probably will just never test him

We need to talk about Tex’s left foot goal in the third quarter.

Honestly, in terms of degree of difficulty, you won’t see a better goal than that. Period.

That was Darren Jarman-esque
That might be the first ever time I've actually placed my beer on the ground and given a standing ovation.

I should hold off until I've seen the full game but something looked off about Port tonight. Collingwood also played like s**t this week. I'm wondering whether last weeks game pulverised the both of them.
So ....do we get a performance reprieve for the RICH loss .....after playing the previous week against GWS in 41 degree heat ?

I'll allow it 2.gif

He was our cold. How did the AFL not over rule? Disgraceful. Law suit central

Port should not complain if they are sued by a player for being negligent with concussion tests
I guess they figure they don't have any money anyway so are safe as houses

We went into the 1st Showdown this year after GWS game and Tigers smashing us.

The way we rolled Port in that final quarter was something special.

Port Power - the only club in history that has a Captain that doesn’t play and a coach that doesn’t coach 😂
You're a bit late

I could've told you that in 2010-12 with Primus/Cassisi

As expected: Sloane lapped up the sub role. We could have been doing that all along

Not as expected: Crouch carved up head-to-head with Port's mids.
We just compressed the game, closed up all the space, and turned the game into a scrap .....Butters & Rozee had no space to run

There was almost no bad except for our defenders going up to spoil and missing the ball completely, allowing it to spill over the back for their spudlingers to pounce on. Cost 3 goals.

Otherwise all good :)

He wasn't right. When he had to.turn and run fast, he looked unsteady. Had to run to and grab point post. Usually he's agile and would have just side stepped to avoid it in that situation.

Yep, they could have at least pretended that he passed it
I remember a player talking about these concussion tests and that they do it over summer when they are fit and strong and use that as a benchmark.

What a lot of players do though, is that they set the bar really low to pass to the concussion tests, so when they get one during a game, its a lot easier to pass.

I really thought we kinda maybe fluked the first one, maybe we caught Port at the right time, but tonight's game just validates how good our win over Port was before their winning streak.

It only shows we are going to be a force if we can just address one or two areas and get some players either through the draft or trade.

Imagine Murray, Butts, Rankine and Rachele all playing a full game tonight, we would have smashed Port by 10+ goals.
One thing that is interesting to me is that the prime movers in this win were quite different from the first Showdown win. In the round 3 win Rankine and Thilthorpe kicked 9 goals between them, Sloane had 22 touches including a big last quarter, Pedlar and Rachele were great. On the other hand Walker was goalless, Milera and Smith were quiet, Fogarty missed with a knee. Totally different story this time with Crouch having a huge game, 7 goals for Walker and some good work from Fogarty and McAdam up forward, Milera, Hinge and Smith providing great run etc. Senior players much bigger this time given that some of our younger guys are missing or just struggling a bit late in the season.

Well concussion tests are meant to be 20 minutes in case of delayed concussion. They didn’t test at all.
How do you not test a bloke knocked out cold?

Good:
Commander Keane! Played well for the first club game.
Tex. Could of gone for 8, passed it off to make sure the goal was scored.
Crouch started well, shockingly. Faded in the 3rd. But started to appear again in Q4.
Dawson was 'uge in Q2.

Bad:
Time to put Butts on ice for the year. Pending how long the foot is fractured for. Might even been longer.
Umpiring was a bit, err, blind and drunk to start off with. But got less rando and more normal as the game went on.

The wtf:
How was there no HAI done to both port players....
Will be interesting to see how this "migraine" goes next week. As to if he plays or not....

Apparently this was the first time Mark Keane's parents had ever been to an AFL game

The club brought them over from Ireland to watch him

Collingwood never did
Yep. We need his signature in a position we have no depth. Great investment by the club- make him feel loved and hope he doesn’t try strong arm us from a position of strength into too many extra $$. Just be grateful lad.

Well played list management team
