Cmon. We have seen bursts of Pedlar in the middle during the year but he hasn’t been able to play near 4 quarters. This is the first time I reckon he has been sub. Played it brilliantly but unlikely - evidence says 100% would not have - got 4 quarters like that out of him

Might have been the perfect player to come on and impact like he did

Just needs to build his tank. Sloane offered nothing.

Team doesn’t know how to win the close ones. Another game where we’ve absolutely dominated for a period and lost by a kick. 4.8 in the last.

Last week we had all the play in the last 10 minutes and couldn’t score.

Collingwood x2, the Melbourne game.

Shit kicking, play like shite for a half, can’t win close games.

Story of the year.

In such an even competition, with all the effort that's put in just to get a winning edge, there's no way any supporter should be accepting of the BS umpiring. The goal at the end was a disgrace but there was a heap of field umpiring stuff that was a disgrace as well, robbed there too.

Apart from that it was a lot of the usual suspects
Bad tactics or bad implementation of the tactics by the players in slippery conditions. Pretty sure we are 2 and 5 in slippery conditions this year.
A run of scoring in a row of over 3 goals by the oppo that we werent able to break.
A lot of ball getting over the back of aerial contests.
Some bad basic mistakes, out on the fulls, not tapping boundary side and instead tapping inboard in an open syd forward line when under pressure, not conceding a point with a tonne of pressure on etc.

I can forgive those missed goals at the end with heavy legs and a heap of scoreboard pressure. There was an array of good goal kickers that did it. Much more forgiveable than the crap that led to the run of goals that caused the scoreboard pressure.

Not so bothered with selection either. Get the gameplan /tactics right and selection plays little part.

Good things
We won!
Great hard fought comeback when they couldve easily fallen away.
Considering the experience of the backline I can't really fault them.
Milera, Smith, Murphy, McAdam, Lairdy all having good games. Soligo got into it as the game went on.

Other
ROB had a stinker.
Rachele -did some terrible, did some supreme.
AFL costing us the game, then we think, great, we'll get a good mid at the draft, then the AFL gift three early picks to kangaroos and we miss out.

Another typical off season then

I wonder have we even been on the receiving end of a controversial decision?? Can only think of Jameson’s goals against Fitzroy. I can remember getting screwed a lot and getting reamed by umpires on a continuous basis

For context I rated Soligo very highly last year. I said he might end up a Neale type player. Rarely did anything wrong, made clever decisions and was strong in the contest.

There's no way you could say the same about him this year.

He was good early, but as the game went on tonight I saw him fumble (up close) and panic with the ball.

I think he's had the 2nd year blues but very few people want to admit it.

Yeah the loss was pretty much on those players that missed shots last quarter. All gettable goals. For Fog who is meant to be a dead eye that was embarrassing. He needs to learn what walker does to ensure must get goals go through. He has a different technique where he doesn't kick it hard.

Re: the Keays' "point", I didn't see any replays that showed the ball touching/hitting the post (it was nowhere near the padding). Anybody who was there, can you say definitively it was a goal, please?
Not that it'll change anything.
The GU called "point" straight away.
If it had been reviewed it was most likely the GU's call would not have been overturned.

There was an accumulation of scheissen-hausen Crows' mistakes and inability to execute before then which should have made the Keays kick irrelevant anyway.
Let's face it, our Crows were not good enough, today, and in several other games.

I was right behind it and I thought it definitely was a goal

What’s your call on tonight’s game?

There's a significant difference between bad umpiring decisions like htb which can be subjective.

And a goal being called a point which was just blatantly a goal, there is no middle ground on this
Goals being called a point, goal umpires saying a player touched it before it crossed the line when it clearly didn’t, whether the ball hit the post or not - again, it’s been going on forever. It’s the reason we now have a review system, to try to limit it happening.

Is it annoying when it happens? Sure. Should we try to prevent it? Definitely.

But did it really cost us the match tonight? No more than RT and Tex not being able to kick straight from 30m out in the first quarter. That’s pretty black and white as well.

Another Craig-ism I like (no, I’m not a “big fan”): if you win or lose by less than two goals, there’s a fair bit of luck involved.

What? He turned the ball early on with the entire side playing shit and got better as the game went on.

RT or Fog from 15m out ?

Right behind the kick and was certain it was a goal at the ground. Was stunned when it was given a point. No reason not to celebrate as it looked a clear goal from our view

I'm surprised there wasn't a riot at the game especially from the people behind the goals.

Can't play one quarter of football and expect to win.

And we lost another game (6th in total) despite having more scoring shots.

Feels very "Crows"

Not good enough. Season over
Except when Collingwood storms home with a last quarter win, the media froth and McCrae is a genius.

We legit stormed home and responded. This is no different except Collingwood get the correct call and all is good.

We actually played 2 quarters and they probably played 3
