Why wouldnt Eddie just do it. Channel 9 job isnt going anywhere and all Swann was was his little lap dog.

i thought players were living at his house will he kick them out

Eddie will sort that out, pronto! Spare a room or two, Mick? :D

In all seriousness - If Swann was committed to move elsewhere - He wouldn't ditch the club purposely without notifying Eddie and Co, first and foremost, then the players at his house.

It's time to move on!
Geoff Walsh is an adequate replacement (for the time being at least).

Seen the Departed? There's no better way to destroy an organization than by sending in a "rat" to pull it apart from the inside. But seriously what was left for him to do at Collingwood? We turn over a sh1tload of cash (many millions more than the scum) and our revenue streams are assured going into the future which wasn't the case when he first arrived. Gregs after another challenge which is to get a club that is completely stuffed back to a respectable level. Reclamation project or impossible mission? we'll have to wait and see, one thing he'll have to deal with first is the chronic infighting and back stabbing, good luck!

Aside from the Mitchell/Pagan saga, I wasn't aware of any infighting and back srtabbing go on at Carlton now that RP is the President. Great get by the Carlton Footy Club, and another step forward for us.

Quite right, It's hard fight when you don't talk to each other. As for Swanny he won't be accepted, just a honest hard working bloke without a born to rule mentality, Carlton people will hold where he's come from against him.

Er.........does the word premiership meaning anything to you? Oh right, it's Collingwood - silly me.

Not good form man.

I hate Collingwood as much as the next person, but this is their board and we're fair game here. Most team boards have a zero tolerance policy, you should respect their team when posting on their board.

It's not Gregg Swann's job to win a premiership. It's his job to make it a viable business.

Lets let the players win the matches, and the directors crunch the numbers. Collingwood are streets ahead of Carlton in both areas.

Not suprised really. Good administrators need a challange. I suspect he was almost getting bored at Collingwood and Carlton have obviously made a better offer. He would be well aware that now is the best time for someone like him to get to Carlton. I am quite sure most people on here would leave their job if someone made them a better offer. He should be commended for the job he has done at Collingwood.
Well done Swanny!!

I would imagine that the club was aware that he was considering other job offers - This would explain why we went and hired another CEO while Swann was still at the club.

Geoff Walsh has now had a few months to learn from Swann in regards to how Collingwood is run, and we still have Eugene Arocca as a COO, who is probably qualified to be a CEO himself.

Don't forget that Geoff Walsh is one of the better administrators in football - We're not exactly gasping for air in regards to finding another CEO.

Quote.

"I'm very dissapointed with the timing and probably more dissapointed with the destination."

(Eddie on Swanny's defection)

:D :D :D :D :D :D :D
