Yeah it is sad Carl, but it is what it is.
Agreed! We are yet to find a real replacement for him. Hendo showed flashes but is not quite it and Johnstone is not mobile enough to play that role.

The best irony will be if we go on and win a flag in the next few years and Cunston misses one at Hawthorn.
Make no mistake THIS was the Hawks year and with Mitchell, Osborne, Burogyne and Guerra all being 30 and Sewell, Hodge, Gibson and Hale all being 28 you suggest that they will have only one year at most left before they start to dramatically fall away. If they miss out next year, with no midfield it's going to be a long time between drinks down at Waverley.

Can someone please find some footage of this for me? I wasn't able to watch the GF but this sounds brilliant.

It's definitely worth watching, Swans had kicked three unanswered goals and are up by 7 points. Buddy passes to an unchecked Cunston about 15 metres out on a 10 degree angle so all he has to do is go back and kick a gimme goal to cut the margin back to a point. The commentators talk up how much of a sharpshooter he is etc, but the pressure gets to him, he chokes and the kick goes right.

Watching the replay Jack also dropped 2 uncontested marks in the goalsquare in the first quarter. The first was a straightforward chest mark. He was truly a key reason why a Hawthorn lost. Very sad

Should be included in any Cunston you tube clips as a lead in to his missed shot on goal in the last quarter.
I think I heard Bruce say in the second quarter "Gunston ran past the contest there." Good call by the AFC Ambassador, hope that makes the you tube clip as well.

Watched it again today. It's made my weekend. Love Karma.
I was sitting next to a North official at dinner after the game and asked him about losing Gibson. He said that actually the boys thought he was a bit of a w***er. I said Hawthorn was the perfect club for him to go to and he agreed.
