Firstly, the "No Kane Cornes" Rule is back

Bobby Hill is coming in. That is a done deal already as he has already completed a medical. So with Bobby Hill coming in at Collingwood does that mean they would be slightly easier parting ways with Ginnivan as part of the Tom Mitchell trade. I think it's a big possibility and something that we will be asking for as part of the Mitchell negotiations.
I'd be absolutely staggered if they included Ginnivan in that trade.

I don’t understand why Collingwood would feel compelled to send a player back our way.

Isn’t the broad consensus here that Mitchell is only worth a pick in the region of 30 - 50 now?

Is it a salary issue then?

The big watch for me is what happens with Jackson.

If he does stay at the Dees as some little whispers suggest, Grundy will need to find another suitor.

Add him to our midfield and we will see Newk, Ward, JOM and Moore go to another level.

I know what your saying, but if they really feel that TOM will complete their midfield and he's a missing piece for them to go one step further and we are adamant that we want a player in return (not picks,as there picks as it stabmnds wouldnt really cut it).

We should be demanding Ginnivan as he would be happy to join his child hood team and he's idolised Mitchell growing up.

With the Pies knowing Bobby Hill is a done deal, they should be happy to part ways as Hill could feel that void for them. So technically they've gained a very experienced midfielder and also gained a more experienced small fwd.

The more you think about it the more you realise its a win win for both clubs. Pies are winning more than what there loosing. And we gain a very much needed small goal kicking forward.

I think it's very possible of happening.

He's 19 and just kicked 40 goals. They would be losing massively on that trade. It's not happening.

Let's see. I definately wouldn't be rulling it out. Know body saw Stephenson

I wouldn't be rulling anything out. No body saw Jadyn Stephenson being traded out either. Let's just wait and see.

Grundy ends up at us late in trade period unexpectedly like Treloar to the Bulldogs?

Stephenson got traded out after his troubles with gambling/suspension and had a massive fall in form. We shouldn’t be bothering with ginevin or Bruhn. Just draft talent in . There is no quick fix for us.

You are not going to build a list entirely through the draft.

I’d be ruling it out.

So if Grundy did end up at Hawks, with Reeves, both fully fit who takes more of the centre bounces? Gotta a lot of optimism in Reeves (he is approaching that sweet spot I feel) and then Ramsden comes on ……… bringing in a player on big bucks for a lot of years could put us in a similar situation to what the Pies and GWS are in now. Not a big fan of dealing with Collingwood’s problem as it could become ours!

Just okay Ramsden as a forward and problem solved 🤪

So...with Melbourne out in straight sets, one would think they'd need to freshen up the forward line..."IF" they come calling for Mitch Lewis what would we expect in return.
NOTE..JUST A QUESTION...

Max gawn, Clayton Oliver, Christan Petracca, Adam Yze, the 2021 Premiership, and a whole warehouse of steak knives. Might have to send a future 4th back.

Would never happen, and I doubt we'd deal him even if it did, but you'd assume we'd ask a lot. It's a buyers market. Top 10 pick and a decent player.

Yup - Ginnivan to the Hawks due to boyhood support. Just like Whitfield to the Hawks due to boyhood support. Just like Tom Lynch ended up at Collingwood due to his boyhood support. Just like Dylan Shiel joined Carlton due to his boyhood support. Just like Jeremy Cameron demanded a trade to Collingwood due to his boyhood support.

Yes - sometimes players get happily reunited with their boyhood club due to good fortune and stars aligning (Gibson and Scrimshaw as examples) or wanting to move back to home towns - but a player who is becoming a cult icon at their present club who looks like he’s loving every moment of it? Give me a break. Once the majority of players enter the system their childhood support would be out the door before long - or at least be diminished in preference to the club they’re now at.

Jackson likely heading home - West Coast could use pick 2 in getting him and Grundy likely to Melbourne as a result based on this:

So those wishing for pick 2, Grundy or Bruhn are having a bad week.

Lewis just signed a 4 year contract extension so it would never happen. But just saying they did, min 2 x first rounders please.

Stephenson was a dead set liability culture wise.

So you’d take the pay cut to play for that club you supported?

FWIW - I don’t think playing for the club you supported as a kid is a particularly relevant consideration for the vast majority of professional footballers. Certainly don’t get that many announcing that when they sign a contract do we?
Yes, I've taken pay cuts to have a better work environment.
Not everyone lives for greed.
