Firstly, the "No Kane Cornes" Rule is back

Its sad thatd weve created this culture, with Mitchell, Lewis, Hodge, Birchall and Gunston all now ending their careers at other clubs.

Logical move from Jack though

I agree. Both sad, and a difficult culture to now change - that will be players’ expectations… when we next win a threepeat ;)

Might be more to play out. Unless Brisbane just absolutely do not care about any compensation for McStay.

I mean, they've upgraded by getting Gunston for free, so I guess it's possible.

Is it possible they’ll be on similar contracts?

Does he get complete say? If I was Brisbane I would be saying that we will trade a future 3rd for you so that we get a likely 2nd rounder for McStay.

I'm not sure what happened at GWS, but maybe that delisted kid Sproule would be worth a look at as a short term fill in for Gunners? He had a decent game in a final vs Swans a few years ago, but I haven't seen much else of him.

Thanks for your service Jack , is and always be a Hawthorn champ.
A few years ago a fair chunk of this board were complaining about lack young players getting opportunity and the like .

Well that reality and want is here now. Im excited by it as much as losing Jack stings .
What opportunity for Kosi , Butler, Serong etc
They should be champing at the but to hit pre season .

J.Lawrence

Completely forgot about him. But yep, may take a punt on him.

I saw somebody mentioned Zach Sproule. He's a slightly better Callow. Can at least kick a goal and stay involved longer through games. Been given plenty of time to develop but has never quite shown enough.
(PS. I've followed his career quite closely. Played against him when he was 17. Kicked 7 on our full back who won our best and fairest).

So do we add a forward to the list, or just go into 2023 with what we’ve already got and have drafted?

Hearing that Meek will play pure Ruck, with Ned splitting time forward and Ramsden to be developed as a forward, but will that be enough?

Pressure is on, Kosie.
An young Serong was promising in the forward line.

With Shiels retiring and Gunston going to the Lions. I do wonder if Bruest may change his mind about moving clubs.
He signed on for another year.

Jack is a champ, spoke to him a few times and got him to autograph my son's jumper...he pointed out it was #3 not #19! Understand the fresh start whilst we aren't contending...let's now fast track Butler and Serong who clearly have talent

How does it make sense for Breust to commit to us but also same posters spruik Gunston leaving to lions is a good move for him and even us!!??? İt's not like he is starving for premiership success! İt's a terrible outcome for Hawthorn...get nothing, zilch, Nada from out of this. He isn't 34 , he is what 29? 30? Jumped ship. That's the way I see it anyway.

Other than Serong, there’s no midsize forward on the list. It’s probably time to target one in the draft.
Brayden George come on down?

🤞

honestly shocked no one has mentioned 2021s hottest name Jarrod Brander...can only assume I missed it

Even with Brockman re-signing the lack of small/medium forwards is a concern. Not to mention how inexperienced the forward-line will be next year. On the flip side this opens the door for Serong and Butler to play more games.
Really? We still have Lewis, Bruest, Wingard and Impey.

Options for our taller forward stocks:

Resting ruck up Forward if we always play two.
Back Kosi to improve.
Get more games into Serong.
Rookie list Fergus Greene
Draft the best available tall forward.
Hopefully Lawrence too.
