All only have to kick 5 goals more each in 2023 than they did in 2021 and he’s covered.

I remember when we weren’t going to be able to cover Franklin’s goals either, and we did with ease.
Two yrs more of Gunna is just a suger hit , zero protein in it .
This way we truly bottom out and build properly , cap space and game time now open for other players to develop .
position our selves strongly for this draft and next .
Bowes must be got ( with pick 7)
Mitchell must get us 16 ( pick swaps involved )
6,7,16 this draft must be a focus .

A future pick for Gunna to match bid on McCabe .

All strong building blocks

we don’t build to compete, leave that to other clubs
We build to win flags !

Does anyone on this board actually believe we’ll be any good in the years Jack has left? I for one don’t..

Better off to get games into kids and find out who’s going to be around when we have our next tilt..

Sometimes when you win you lose and when you lose you actually win……

Should be pursuing Gresham, Callaghan, Anderson, Serong, Bergman, Kemp, Henry. Just to name a few.

We almost have too much money.

Downside is that their boys (if any good) will play for the Lions or Suns academy rather than F/S
Good thing we have poor results from F\Ss

Yeah great …isn’t it

I have no idea where our goals will come from now.
We really need Kosi, Butler and Brockman to make up 2 goals a game because that's what Jack contributed.

Any draftee sure as he'll won't help next year.

Could be more pain to come.
Wingard was averaging 1.7 goals a game before getting injured and Lewis over 3 goals. They missed 19 games together.
Brockman back in the best 22.
Butler, MacDonald, Serong, Moore, Kosi another year of development.
Stronger midfield providing more opportunities.

And Breust! Thank f**k we never traded him the 7,126,983 times it was suggested on here.

You reckon we could still get a 2nd rounder for him....?

On a serious note, Gunston will be missed. IF he breaks down it will be a blessing in disguise. Might be just one more piece of what Brisbane need to look like a decent outfit.

Not sure why some people think Bowes is now coming to us. Understand Brisbane flagged interest and he’s a Queensland boy but the media narrative has him almost confirmed at Geelong and if true the qld connection doesn’t seem that strong. Unless that’s changed I am not taking this as cause for optimism despite agreeing how desperately we need that pick.

With Shiels retiring and Gunston going to the Lions. I do wonder if Bruest may change his mind about moving clubs.
No way. Bruest knows his own mind. I'm sure he'll be sad to have those two gone but he's stated a few times he wants to be a one club player and he's invested in Sam's vision.

Yep, just got to be patient.

Get games into everyone next year, hit the draft hard again and in 2 years when things look very good for the future, we can start attacking an elite player or two like B Smith or Serong,

I'd look at Weideman. We can't do any worse.
Maybe the trialling of Scrimshaw up forward has legs after all. He is exactly the same height as Gunners too. Hey it's sad to see him depart but we all knew it was coming and we're really just holding out hope that he'd stay.

Funny how for all the salary cap space we've got, players don't exactly appear to be lining up to offer their services. Would be nice to come out of trade week without feeling like we got bent over on a trade and/or screwed by free agency for once.

Agree.

I would like to see Scrimmers play as a tall forward from next year.

The little sample we received of him there this year was really positive. Plus he is surplus to our needs in defence.

Media narrative hasnt changed, but I would be staggered if we arent contacting Bowes Management tonight with a nice restructered deal
