A peak Chris Judd at 24 is the only player in history that got another team a package like that.

Putting aside that no club has 2 top 10 picks, any club who could get 2 top 10 picks would have to be worrying about more than the 2 maybe 3 years of additional service Dustin Martin would give them. You're a bad take generating machine.

Richmond should be taken to the cleaners here, 1.3m a year for an almost retired star - you would expect either 0 trade value if they don't pay a substantial amount of his cap.

Hence Bud being offered $500k and GWS looking to offload players. Sounds like Cogs and Whitfield will also be pushed, depending on which coach walks in obviously.
GWS are projected to be $1mill over the cap next year so they would have to clear $3.6 mill without pay increases for any current players. Sydney have already allocated Franklins money to back ended contracts for Heeney and Mills plus have players like Warner that will need large increases soon.

GWS, Sydney and Collingwood are three clubs that gambled on large increases to the salary cap that got halted by COVID.

What do you anticipate Hopper & Taranto trade value to be?

If you think dusty has zero trade value, then we are getting pick 317 for t.mitchell

As crazy as it sounds at this point in time Tom Mitchell would be the lower risk trade.
Dusty's best is likely behind him. Does he still have the drive to push himself to be the best version of himself on field. His salary is huge is anyone's terms. What is Dusty likely to offer in the form of tutorship to young team mates? I could go on.

Geelong traded for Ablett with pick 19 for 24 (170 points upgrade, equivalent to a pick in the ~40s) and a late future second (with a future fourth coming back). To me that looks like he was valued in the mid-late 20s and I think Dusty would have a comparable value if he was traded this season

Mitchell is 2 years younger and didn't just walk away from the game for a few months and demanded a trade at seasons end, Martin keep getting soft tissues injuries and current form over the last 2 years has been lacking to career output.

Martin is worth a late first round pick at best.

Martin is still worth more than Mitchell in a trade, but in no way is he worth 2 top 10 picks when you factor in he's 31 and the club would also have to burden 1.2 mill a year salary for the next 2 seasons.

Dustin has had a interrupted preseason, hence the soft tissue injuries.

In my opinion, still a top 3 player in AFL. Match winner on the ball or forward line. SUPER STAR!

He will bounce back, and dominate. If Sydney could fit him in, they are top 4.

Any suggestions of his best is behind him, just refer to his last game, freak!

I rated Dustin as much as the next bloke but I can't see him consistently repeating 2017-2020 form at this point. Sydney will finish top 4 this season also without Dustin. Based off the last 2 years it's hard to make a case for him still being top 3 in the comp.

ok, so if Martin is worth a late first round pick, what do you expect t.mitchells trade value to be?

Gunston just kicked 5.4

Would you not agree that despite having a ripper of a game, his best is likely behind him?

The salary burden might come close to evening them out or at least making their value within the same ballpark compared to what their overall worth would be without salary/injury factors. Also Richmond, via Hardwick, have already made charitable statements about him if he were to depart. Sydney have two first rounders - I would imagine just one would get it done.
