Ridiculous of Hawks supporters to be saying to take this case further, to real courts. A horrid decision, but this happens multiple times a season, and you have to take the bad with the worse.

Yes, injustice should always be accepted - never challenged. That's how we avoid it in the future. :thumbsu:

You dont go to the courts in Rnd 10, but you do in rnd 22, and you especially do when the fabric of the game is threatened.

We are just venting our anger i think we all knew it was a waste of time, but this rule they have is total crap, if they wanted to protect the head so much then why dont they change our game completely and we can wear head gear and padding like the NFL..

How the hell is a guy who is 6"6 supose to tackle a bloke 5"10 and not get him head high..

And Buddy gives away more frees than any one else and had he went for the tackle he would of given away a free and the tigers would of had a chance at goal, imagine if this was a Grand Final and Buddy went for the tackle becuase he couldnt bump and he gave away a free for head high contact or holding the man...

You should choose not to post any more on our board - I would say you are now walking a VERY FINE LINE

To be honest mate he is correct. The rule is whats wrong here - not the decision. The appeals board are following what the rule says and could only support what the original decision was. Clearly the rule is what is turning the game into a non-contact sport.

Is there anywhere that states the details of the decision? Is it forceful head-high contact or just high contact? If it's the latter why did rance not get put out? Does it now mean anyone going for a spoil with eyes on the ball but accidently collects the head with their body is gone?

You misunderstand. I agree in principle that the bump was fine and shouldn't have been punished but under the rules amended after the Maxwell incident they had no choice but to run Franklin out. Unlucky that it happened in Round 22.

To be honest mate I couldn't give a rats. My post was because the poster in question has been an annoying ass wipe for the last three days. What he thinks is totally irrelevant.

For the record, most are well aware that the suspension by the letter of the law had to be imposed. The problem is the rule was changed by a power hungry tossbag who spat the dummy at a club getting the better of him and he reacted accordingly. The game as we knew it is now officially changed forever and the likes of Mooney, Rooke and Chapman who like to play hard, tough, but fair football are now going to have to take extra care.

I for one cannot believe how anyone would contemplate our judicial system with rubbish like this. He connected head high, all head high contact has been put on notice the clubs know this. They were trying to plug at a loop hole that the new interpretation of the rule is not in the rule book. It's ****ing petty, and week. You'd think that being such a 'great side' they'd be able to cover players, but as we've seen this year, without a few players they are nothing. Weak as piss hawthorn. There have been much worse decisions by the tribunal. Get over yourselves Hawthorn, worst premiership defence ever.

Congratulations.

Your post just proves that someone put chlorine in your gene pool.

I mean 'week'?

I hear what you are saying but unfortunately when you strip away all the stuff that doesn't matter the words that are bolded are all that matters.

Now, to address all the other stuff the clubs need to get together and work together against the AFL to get the rule changed back. Most people are ignoring this and are just talking about Supreme Courts and the like. That wont fix a thing.

Change the rule - that will make things right for the future. Nothing will change what happened tonight and Lance will not play for 2 matches.

I actually commented on this elsewhere - it is time for all clubs to be united on this and the tribunal in general. The system as it is just doesn't seem to work imo.

In fairness to hawk supporters we are at the moment just very angry and are venting and to have opposition supporters come onto our board and post in some cases idiotic comments does nothing to help the situation.

But seriously? What idiot would contemplate worrying actual courts with sporting issues. Only Hawthorn bandwagoners. Don't worry they'll all be on St. Kilda next year, unless of course they choke.

BTW if you think demitrispew is runing the game with this decision/ruling then you've missed the last 5 years or so. He's a ****ing spud, and i'd love to see you guys do something to show him he's not satisfying his fans. Which of course he claims to be doing. Mob him!

Bandwagoners! Look at your join date idiot.

Yeah, I have seen some pills on here stirring you blokes up. I am not trying to do that at all. Just stating that the rule is shizenhousen and calling for court action (like many people here are doing) isn't going to do anything but pull the game into places it shouldn't be.

They did change the rule. That's why Buddy copped two. If we were playing under rules as they were in round 1, no suspension would have been forthcoming. The AFL are at fault here, and there's no denying that fact.

It's interesting how much at ease opposition supporters are with this decision because it doesn't affect them, and even assists Essendon's cause.

The AFL have painted themselves into a corner here, they have nowhere to go. The slightest amount of aggression shown in the finals series and they MUST suspend, otherwise Hawthorn really WILL have ammunition for legal action.

I just can't wait to see supporters of other clubs whingeing like stuck pigs when one of their key players go for something similar, especially after feeling justice was served with Buddy.
